Devon Smith Is Still Friggin' Fast
Excerpt:
So far this school year, Devon Smith has crossed two major goals off his checklist. He helped bring Westlake a state football title, the first in school history, and he received a scholarship offer from an elite division I football program.
Now, Smith said, just one goal remains: to break the national high school record in the 55-meter dash. He didn't do that at yesterday's D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association Invitational at Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, but he won two events while displaying the type of blistering speed necessary to potentially become the fastest of all time.

good lord I can’t wait to see how that translates to the football field.

On his first play for PSU he is probably going to get the ball and take off
and some lineman is going to stick out his arm and his head is going to pop clean off.
We just needed a couple players, a couple people to buy in to the fact and we were able to do it. --A.Q. Shipley

Wow, he also has "football speed", and did you ever notice that half of kickoff and punt returns
for tds start with a muffed reception. I wonder if he can have the kind of impact that “rocket” ismial had at ND back in the day, that would be great.

Its also worth noting that
he is playing in the crab bowl here with decent competition. Now if he can just CATCH the ball on the kickoff…

They're getting him ready for Beaver Stadium
by playing Zombie Nation after the TD. Hopefully we’ll be hearing that a lot after his returns.

He looks like a PeeWee football player
Either that or he is wearing the biggest helmet they could find

Yeah
That’s exactly what I thought whenever I saw him in the Crab Bowl or whatever it’s called. I’m afraid that he’s going to get absolutely killed. The kid needs redshirted and 40 hours a week in the gym. And if somebody in the Ag college could get him some horse steroids, it wouldn’t hurt.

Protection
Do you think we could get him to ride Brandon Ware around like this?

He’d be much safer.

Pretty soon the
DMV is going to need to put a speed limiter on him…
