That incomplete pass call on the Holmes catch was ridiculous. He took about 3 steps with the ball, placed a hand on the ground, and lunged for the goal line. But because the ball jostled loose whenever he hit the .5" line, it’s somehow incomplete?

I thought he broke the plane with the ball so I figured if anything it was a TD.

I thought it was a TD. I don’t think the refs paid any attention to the goal line during their review. I think they were looking solely at the ball control and called it incomplete from that. And even then, I don’t get how it can be logically considered incomplete.

And I know that coming to this board, no matter what game, will always induce one response.
The zebras have their head up their ass. It gets old as is usually inaccurate. For instance, the Holmes incompletion was the correct call, but there are 3 of you acting like you know what you are talking about and that it was a bad call. You’re wrong. As much as it sucked as a fellow Pittsburgh fan, it was the right call.

is attached to the “that call was lame” post, so it becomes assumed that when you say, “The refs have been iffy so far” that you are directing that comment as if you are in agreement with that post. If you are not, then what “iffy” calls are you talking about???

1. The roughing the passer penalty that gave the Ravens life.
2. The pass interference penalty on their touchdown drive. I didn’t see the replay, but it looked pretty iffy.
3. The bad spot Baltimore got on their failed fourth down try.
4. The no-call when Roethlisberger got speared in the back.
5. When they called a personal foul on Kemoeatu when he retaliated after getting his head jerked around by the Raven. It should have been, at least, offsetting fouls.
6. The roughing the kicker penalty.
And a couple of others I can’t remember. And before you say that I shouldn’t complain because we won, all of my posts complaining about the officials occurred during the game when I was nervous as hell.

I get that, by the rule of the book, it was the correct call. I take issue with it being the rule. He established possession, advanced the ball under control, defensive contact was made, and the ball jostled loose when he stretched for the goalline (and I’m still not convinced it didn’t cross the plane). Rationally, I don’t see how that’s not at least a catch. The rule is idiotic.

X’s and O’s guy……..at all. But for the first time in my life, I have head this comment made twice this week…………The Steelers defense is straight forward and vanilla.
If that is the case, what does that say about the Steelers. I mean…….they just plug average guys into the lineup and and they play and average scheme and yet they end up just kicking ass with the defense year after year.

im not really a huge fan of the NFL, point being i dont have a team that i follow in the NFL. would you people say penn state fans mostly like the steelers or the eagles?

But I’d probably say it was 60/40, Eagles. I don’t know if that’s because there really were more Eagles fans, or if it’s because they were just louder and more obnoxious.
I felt bad for my one roommate. Of the 6 guys in the apartment, 5 of us were Steelers fans and this kid was a big Eagles fan. And this was during the T.O. years. I had predicted when the Eagles signed him that he would cause the team to implode. I never let him hear the end of it when it became true.
