ESPN PRESTIGE RANKINGS: PSU 11
Penn State is number 11 in ESPN's college football prestige rankings. I like that we are ahead of all the SEC teams like Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and LSU. I sent this to my brother in law who is a big UGA fan, and my other brother in law who is a big UT fan. Being here in Georgia, I hear all about the Dawgs, but we know PS is Slightlyy better than them. After all we beat them for the 82 title.
For both titles, (82, 86), Were we ranked #2?

What bothers me about these rankings...
Look at the rankings through the decades for PSU : Through 1958 51, 1968 31st | 1978: 11th | 1988: 9th | 1998: 9th
Look at Miami who is ranked ahead of the Lions Through 1958: 60th | 1968: 52nd | 1978: 33rd | 1988: 17th | 1998: 12th
Look at FSU who is also ahead of the Nitts Through 1958: 75th | 1968: T-70th | 1978: T-69th | 1988: 31st | 1998: 11th
If you average those out here is what you get…. PSU 22.2 Miami 34.8 FSU 51.2….
I know they took other things into consideration here such as Heismans, and other awards but heck, PSU destroys FSU in a head to head matchup…the scandals at PSU cannot have penalized the program because FSU has had JUST AS MANY IF NOT MORE…they also go on to say " No team dominated college football as completely for such an extended period of time as Florida State did in the ’90s" So you are going to boost a team because of 1 decade of high play…a decade in which they faced plenty of scandals and other issues…Looks like ESPN sticking it to the Lions again in my opinion…
