World Series Trophy to attend first PSU Basketball Game

For you Phillies fans, the 2008 World Series trophy will be at the February 8th PSU basketball game against Wisconsin.

I would love to see a photo of the Nittany Lion and the trophy. If the Phanatic shows up I would love even more a picture of the two mascots, the best in Pennsylvania, and the trophy.

I have seen the trophy twice but would be in awe of anyone who gets a picture taken with the trophy and the Lion.

I mean, the Steelers are one thing, but the Pirates haven’t won since sometime in the 70’s and havent even been close to relevant since Bonds left.

Admittedly, the last 16 years have pretty much sucked, but it gives me peace to know that we currently share the record for longest streak of futility with, you guessed it, the Philadelphia Phillies. I make no apologies to Phillies fans. We’re the better historical franchise, and theres no debating it. Win one or two more, then come talk to me.

Claimed Philly to be a better sports town, nor the Pirates to be historically worse than the phillies. In fact, the Phils are the only philly sports team I am a fan of and am very well aware of the notorious 10,000 losses, so I have no choice but to embrace it. But the way you made your comment about the Pirates and a WS trophy made it sound like they were the Yankees, Which they are not. Basically, if someone is a die hard Pirates fan, you could not tell me they wouldnt be completely psyched to win a title and go see the trophy. I know many pirates fans, they seem to agree.

Steelers = Greatest NFL franchise in my opinion hands down, so replace WS with Lombardi trophy, im on board. (Trust me, I also am a die hard Vikings fan, I know what winning ISNT so by process of elimination, I can figure out what it IS)

a complete aside, being here in SC, the whole Philly/Pittsburgh thing is more annoying than anything,…….ever. How about just dont be dicks to each other and root for PA if your team is out of it, or at least dont be an asshole. I rooted for the Steelers tonight and sincerely hope the Pirates can figure out how to return to their former glory, if they arent playing my Phils, I hope they win too. I mean Ive seen multiple fist fights over this shit.

I saw one of the Pirates’ just last week at Piratefest, and, to show just how oblivious to it I was, I walked past it without even bothering to look at what year’s trophy it was. We Are…Family!
