Mr. and Mrs. McCoy
In the interest of not knowing, and let me apologize if I'm the only one that doesn't know, but why is every other crowd shot in Texas games of Colt McCoy's parents? This is not the first time I've noticed this and I find it odd that his parents are always on TV. I've never seen DC's or DWILL's or any other PSU mom/dad on the tube. Hell I've never even seen any shots of player parents regardless of team unless there was an injury or maybe a pregame senior day shot. Are they that important to the Texas program that FOX and ABC need to show them repeatedly? Sorry that this post has nothing to do with the Blue and White but I needed an outlet for my random thoughts.

because it is Tosu
…the crowd is usually more exciting than the games itself (remember the ND/Tosu Fiesta Bow and Brady Quinn’s sister)
though this game is actually pretty good…

FOX believes they are relatable to "traditional Americans"
As opposed to…say…Terrelle Pryor’s parents; or according to Fox, “most likely single parent”, or Thugz, which is the direct antithesis to core traditional American values which is harming our Christian society at large.
War on Christmas. Things like that. The McCoys represent that.
That is, according to the billionaire Australian who owns the network.

oh yeah
congrats ohio state for BLOWING IT HARD. hmmm we don’t want them to score, so we’ll throw everyone on the line and have the safeties play 10 yards off the snap, that’ll prevent anything…

whoa.... the ladies of BSD in heat over a Longhorn and a Gator?
JoePa and company, you need to fix that by getting them some eye candy up here for em. We need to put some of these ladies on our recruiting staff who can pick out and recruit perennial Heisman quality QB’s for us down the road!

Mizzou too
They showed the Missouri Kicker’s parents ad nauseam during that game with NorthWestern, with the announcers going on about how he’s the most accurate kicker in the history of college football… and then he whiffs the game winning field goal that throws them into OT.
I’m so annoyed with football right now.

Media compounds the pain
The loss isn’t the problem, it’s the media. They’re absolutely grating. And we have to sit here like jackas$es.

That NWern game was AWFUL
I started to keep count of how many times they focused on Heisman-flop Chase Daniel’s parents, and I honestly lost count after 18 (most of which in the final minutes, after him single-handedly trying to lose the game for Mizzou). I don’t have any kids, but if my son played the kind of game Daniel had played, I probably wouldn’t be as happy with a 9-4 season capped off by a God-awful performance in the Alamo bowl.

My wife......
thinks I am crazy and frankly, I didn’t even realize I was doing it, but I have gotten to the point where I rarely watch games with the sound on. I’ll sit there with my laptop reading emails and doing other stuff while I have the game on with the sound on mute. I can’t stand listening to all the gratuitous nonsense. Everybody sounds like Jesse Palmer or Paul McGuire……….."OH MY GOD, DID YOU SEE WHAT HE DID THERE……HE SAW THE BACK SIDE PRESSURE AND " blah blah blah…..then they show the replay and you see that what was just called (as though the hindenberg were upon the stadium) wasn’t that impressive.
PSU Jen……..I’m disappointed in you………Colt McCoy hot ? He looks like he borderline has a mental problem :) Tebow……sure. You’d have to be blind, but his lisp makes me wonder how hetero he is :) And apparently, his name is actually Daniel, and not Colt.

I do the same thing
and my wife and daughters think I’m ridiculous. Honestly, I just can’t listen to the announcers, ahem, fellate college football players for what good people they are (while their college expenses are paid, class schedules are arranged, publicly worshiped, et al). I really enjoy college football, but tolerable announcing has not caught up to the explosion of televised games. Now, live game threads …. the best thing ever.

Good Game
At least OSU showed up and made it competative, but really it doesn’t matter. Tomorrow we’re going to begin hearing that this is the worst conference ever, having it’s worst bowl season ever. Really I couldn’t care less, because I don’t think Penn State football will ever sit comfortably in the Big Ten. I don’t care how the conference is perceived, and I especially don’t like the idea of having to root for teams I naturally dislike.
At the end of the day, I’m glad I saw a good matchup that ended with mopey Buckeyes going thru their now perennial sad-bastard routine. Misery loves company.

We shouldn't root for our enemies
Why in the world anyone cheers for a team that they compete against for recruits and conference championships is beyond me! It’s self-defeating.
Teams like Indiana and Northwestern can root for the Big Ten because they’re never going to be perennial contenders but teams like Penn State should never cheer for a team that we know we’ll be battling with in order to be the best.
The Big Ten believes that Michigan and OSU stand for the Big Ten and I’ll never cheer for that. I’d rather dominate the conference and laugh at their ignorance and misery!
There can be only 1!!!!

Open thread at Eleven Warriors:
The cooler heads will probably prevail, but there’s still some sweet posts.
“buckwild” says: “JT is overrated. Anybody that thinks otherwise is drinking the kool-aid. Not since 2002 has he won a game that he was an underdog. He is predictable and stale…time for change…”
“brutus sidekick” says: “Tressel should be fired…what an embarrasement to our program…; for the 5th straight game he was clearly outcoached go back to D2 football. His offensive playcalling was horrible. I call for all Buckeye fans to stop putting money into this program until a change is made”
Ah, yes, that hits the spot. Sweet, sweet waves of schadenfreude pick me up and carry me into an ocean of contentment.
Dream scenario: Ohio State, under strong pressure from the fan base, fires Tressel after an 8-5 season. Citing the need for "change", Ohio State hires…

Yes, I know it’s far-fetched, but don’t bother me. I’m enjoying the ocean of schadenfreude.
Good night.

is gibson a senior?
b/c this year it really wasn’t the coaching that killed them…it was #90 and those 3 insanely costly penalties that gave the big MO to texas…
ooh…i wonder if i can get them all talkin about firing tressel tomorrow? yay fun!

I believe...
That Gibson is a sophomore. And I agree that his penalties were both stupid and costly. In every picture that ive seen of the guy, he always looks really really pissed off. Supposedly he’s an athletic freak, so maybe theres a little roid rage involved? Kidding, but only half. But he definitely clubs baby seals on the off season to stay in shape which is probably why he fore-arm clubbed McCoy repeatedly during the game. McCoy definitely sports that baby seal eyes when someone is in his face, so I can see the mistake.
