My own personal curiosity: QB stats for #12, #14, #17
I was curious, so I thought I'd present the stats here since I was going to the trouble anyway:

| #14 | 2006 | 111.9 | 386 | 208 | 53.9 | 2424 | 186.5 | 6.3 | 11 | 8 |
| Robinson | 2005 | 127.2 | 311 | 162 | 52.1 | 2350 | 195.8 | 7.6 | 17 | 10 |

| Clark | 2008 | 11 | -85 | -7.7 | ||||||
| #14 | 2007 | 20 | -131 | -6.6 | ||||||
| #14 | 2006 | 19 | -165 | -8.7 | ||||||
| Robinson | 2005 | 12 | -88 | -7.3 | ||||||
| TOTALS | ||||||||||
| Yds | TD | Yds/A | ||||||||
| Clark | 2008 | 2789 | 29 | 6.8 | ||||||
| #14 | 2007 | 2507 | 19 | 5.3 | ||||||
| #14 | 2006 | 2171 | 11 | 4.9 | ||||||
| Robinson | 2005 | 3068 | 28 | 6.3 | ||||||
The Total Yds/A is something I calculated, total yards for the season divided by all passing attempts, rushing attempts and sacks; it's kind of a measure of how efficient each player was on each play. For fun I threw in Collins for passing stats. Comments?

Interesting
Interesting comparison, but I do have a question. How experienced was the O-line for #14? Was it the same group of guys that protected Clark this season. If so, I’d consider that category irrelevant. A young line is usually not that good, so the QB usually hits the turf more often. Thoughts?

I completely agree
It’s hard to look bad when you have All-Americans blocking for you, 4-year starters catching for you, and a hell of a RB taking the pressure off of the passing game…
I think the purest stat of all of these is the Int , shows good decision making and Clark’s was excellent all season long.

Not to mention
DC17 didn’t stare down his receivers ala #14.

I played on the same high school team with Ron
And I followed his career at ND. I don’t remember him staring down receivers, but admittedly I was a scrub and I didn’t think about those things back then.

If he includes Mills, he will have to include safeties as part of our offensive strategy.
Cool comparison though, I am excited for next year! Just think if we could have had Mrob for one more.

I was going to until I looked at the data, and Mills is tough b/c he split a lot of snaps with MRob in 2004, so those stats aren’t as consistent, and due to the fact that you can’t quantify the reason one took the snap instead of the other, the data is almost completely irelevant when compared to one starting QB for a whole season.

Yeah, I figured as much.
That, and by his senior season he hand no shoulders left.

Plus he was throwing to Mark Rubin and a bunch of stiffs

Well
Mark Rubin was totally one of the stiffs.

Yeah
But I said Mark Rubin and a bunch of stiffs because I can’t remember the names of any of the other stiffs.

The sack statistics really stand out.

Yeah, thought so too
I think if it was Next Year Clark and This Year Line, his 11 could be much, much smaller. Oline next year has me more curious than all other components.

Wow; that WAS fun
Thanks for including the Collins 94 stats in the 1st group. Fascinating altogether. Thanks for posting.
That’s some goodlooking production from DC. I expect he’ll continue to grow in the non-statistical-measurables Composure and Leadership, as well. Real leadership, not just the woofing of said leadership. He’ll continue to figure things out.

Rush yards and Sacks
#14’s sacks were drive-killers, either setting up awful second/third-and-long situations or blowing conversion chances on third down. And the total lack of a rushing threat from him made it much easier for defenses to contain the offense. The completion percent and total yards may not show it, but the difference between 14 and MRob/Clark is considerable.

as shown in
total TDs for each year.
Morelli had 1 more TD in two season than Clark had this season.
