Tailgating options in Ann Arbor
I'm heading to Ann Arbor for the PSU v Michigan game on the 24th. Any suggestions for PSU friendly tailgates? I'm in a group of 4 and can start my own, but wanted to see if there were other options.
I need more words. Favorite PSU t-shirt... "Avoid the rush, hate Michigan early". Favorite PSU/Michigan game attended... snow bowl at Beaver Stadium. I tried it and it sucked, all I heard was Michigan losing to the The Vest

Never had a problem.
Like any away game, some people are going to give good reports, some bad. I went to the Alumni tent and had fun. Then the future misses, clad in corn in blue, and I walked around and we were nothing but welcomed everywhere. They tailgate ON THE GOLF COURSE which, as a golfer, is sacrelig. Please stay off the greens. Other than that, have fun. Try the Brown Jug and avoid all the hippies (if you can).

Tailgating on a golf course
The Rose Bowl was my first experience with that. It’s surreal.
"For me the game wasn’t grounded in reality. It was about the uniform you put on that turned you into a warrior. It was about the mythology of the battle, the victory, the defeat, the struggle." - Mike Reid, PSU '69

it freaks me out every time
and I’m not even a golfer…I can hardly stand people parking on front lawns, though…

I prefer my "I hate Michigan" shirt
short and sweet (and a hit at every game, even if it isn’t against Michigan, and even if it is away)

Golf Course tailgating
Most of the Michigan folks tailgate on the golf course. Personally I can’t remember any PSU tailgates on the golf course the last time I was in Ann Arbor but I could be wrong. It seemed like most of the PSU folks parked in one of the university pay lots. There will be a mix of Michigan and PSU people in the lots and finding a group to tailgate with should not be a problem. We partied with a bunch of students who had driven all night to watch Morelli and crew stank it up (horrible game!)! The pay lots are a bit of a hike to the stadium but there is a trolley that comes around and takes you right to the stadium. The are not a lot of ATMs in the bighouse so have cash in hand for concessions before you get there. Also…..actual bathrooms are scare. The littlehouse is old so it is inadequetely equipped. There are a lot of portapotties right outside the gates though. Have a great time at the game!
I thought only safeties played 15 yards off the ball?

I don't specifically remember any PSU tailgates on the golf course
but I’m sure they exist.
One exception, the alumni tent is set up on like the 18th or 1st hole (I forget, but it is near the clubhouse, at least the last 2 times I went).
My preferred parking is in the high school that is kitty corner from the stadium, right across the street from the golf course. Last time I got there a bit late, though, and had to park in someone’s back yard (wasn’t too bad, just a bit of a walk away).
Traffic (for me) getting out is pretty crappy, as they direct me in the opposite direction I want to go, but for anyone going back south/east it is fine.
