Penn State Fans, Hats Off to Thee!!!
I got up early and traveled from Minnesota to Beaver Stadium on Saturday, and other than the outcome and being soaking wet the whole time, I could not have had more fun. I had heard that you guys were great fans but I was still blown away by the way you made us feel welcome in your home. Many times walking around he stadium taking in the atmosphere, I was greeted with friendly waves and smiles. Even after the game no one rubbed it in about how bad we got our asses handed to us, one person even thanked us for coming. With the exception of a few snowballs lobbed in our section I felt nothing but welcome there, and since snowballs were even lobbed at your own PSU bench I just chalked it up to a few Chumbolones. Thanks again for being so "Minnesota Nice"! Wisconsin and Iowa fans could learn a lot from you guys.
Thanks for the fanpost! Please do not post any content from a premium site that requires a subscription. Also, if you just want to share a link consider using fanshots instead. Thanks.

Modesty aside, I’ll never get tired reading things like this. Glad you enjoyed your trip. Pay it forward next year when some PSUians show up in your neck of the woods!

I agree 1000%
I’d love to hear reactions like this from opponents’ fans after every game.

My Favorite Incident...
I saw a group of students walk up to some Minnesota clad fans before the game outside the BJC, and I thought, “oh no.” One of the students said, “I’m sorry, but we have an obligatory boo.” Then a half-hearted boo-boo-boo from the students, and then they said enjoy the game, thanks for coming to State College, and shook the Minnesotans hands. Pretty funny.

Minnesota to UP in one day?
That’s a hell of a drive.

Is Minnesota even part of the continental US?

Barely?
As in Ohio State barely lost on Saturday?

As in Ohio State barely barely lost on Saturday?
That game was a lot closer than one barely can possibly tell…

I don't think barely is a good word to describe that loss
I think they just downright got their asses handed to them by a statistically inferior team.

you are just barely wrong with that
as it is impossible for tOSU to lose in any non barely fashion

Glad to hear it dude
See you next year up at your place. Good luck the rest of the year.

Are you crazy?
It’s freaking freezing in Minnesota, and those nut-jobs gave up an INDOOR stadium for the elements!
j/k, the new stadium looks good. Big Ten football should not be played in a dome. The weather, while often detrimental, is a part of what makes our players tougher.

Come on over Jtot!
I cant wait to crush me some rodents in ‘The Vault’ next year.
I wasted a perfectly good fall inside that awful dome as a student. I tried it and it sucked. (that could go for the whole school part too, but sucked would be a little harsh, just not the same as PSU and thusly, I went running back to dear Old State)

Not that you need to be told this
But what the hell on the third down conversions? That just killed you. How did your fans not slit your collective wrists?
If you patch that up I think you’ll be okay. Weber was more elusive than I thought he’d be, but it looked like he bailed out on too many plays. Decker fell down on a sure fire TD too. It should have been 20-7 with you guys first and goal with 13:00 left in the game. Or was that the same drive?
One or two plays, one or two plays. Good luck going forward.

Wouldn't it have made more sense to have the Vikings/Steelers game last week?
That way fans of the Gophers & Vikings could have made a single trip to catch both games.

And lose twice in two days? For shame.

Ugh
This season? The Steelers will be up by 20 at the end of the third quarter, and give 28 points in the fourth. They win if they get the ball last.
Roethlisberger is totally bad ass, other than his weekly “screw it I’m Ben Roethlisberger and I can do anything” interception.

Yea, I guess THAT is what 14 would have looked like had he been good.
But how can you root AGAINST a Jeff Reed? He “assumed a fighting stance” against the Pittsburgh police. I know I’ve wanted to do that, but never had the nerve.
by PSUJunny05 on Oct 21, 2009 4:51 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
It's simple
He plays for the Steelers, he’s allowed to do whatever he wants. That’s the law, everyone in Pittsburgh has agreed on this. The cop must be from out of town.
His lawyer is literally going to raise the “Active or Legendary Steeler Defense”, case dismissed.
