Around SBN: Sean Keeley's Week 12 College Football Buffet

Luck stopping messing with my picks

Rough one last week in this fanpost, which it's fair to say I'm not qualified to write--or at least no one should be listening to it. But I'm poised to break out this week...I think.  In a kind-of meh weekend for college football--TCU at BYU is the only matchup with two ranked opponents--we get one of the best weekends of football in the big11.  That's the beauty of Northwestern and Indiana playing each other--they don't play anyone else.

Star-divide

PURDUE -10.5 vs. Illinois

A smarter guy would stop picking Illinois to cover until they actually, you know, cover one line this year. I'm more persistent than smart: Injuns +10.5

NORTHWESTERN -5 vs. Indiana

Can I just bet on whether or not this matchup will be on the BTN each of the next five seasons?  Daddy +5

OHIO STATE -16 vs. Minnesota

My first instinct was too take the gophers, but then I remembered that this is their second straight road game and Goldy's a pagan. The $uckeyes figure a way to score at least 20, which should be more than enough to cover. OSU -16

Penn State -4.5 at WHORE

The powers that be quoted 4.5, though Danny Sheridan has it at 4.  It don't matter anyway; the real Darryl Clark stands up in the second half. The road whites -4.5

MICHIGAN STATE -1.5 vs. Iowa

Adios to Iowa's best start since 1985. Vegas knows what's up: SPARTY -1.5

NOTRE DAME -7.5 vs. Boston College

BC's won this game each of the last six years (I think) and ND got a backdoor cover last week.  I don't know who's going to win, but it'll be by a touchdown or less. bc +7.5

Last week: 2-3 in the big ten; 0-1 in other games; 2-4 overall

Overall: 5-8 in the big ten; 3-2 in other games; 8-10 overall

I'm sorry, but I agree with Rambler on Iowa

I don’t think sparty pulls off the upset, or keeps it between 1.5. Didn’t they just lose their RB who was really starting to fill the Grand Canyon sized void that Ringer left?

I really hope BC pulls it off, that will likely put the Irish out of the BCS’ reach, or a quality bowl for that matter. I’m sick of having to watch Charlie Weis’ fat ass on television. Then again, it would be hilarious to see ND sign an extension for Fatty, only to have them climb back on to the FAILboat (which was blessed by the pope, btw) next year.

I’ll go with you on all except OSU/Minny… I’ll have to side with Rambler on that one… The BC money line is attractive too…

I'm worried about that ND/BC game actually

BC’s overachieved all year; I could see the Irish putting a big number up. Weis can’t afford to lose this game.

I wouldn't trust old rooster me neither.

I still think they’re way overrated and are lucky to have a couple of those wins this year…. They’re pretty good O but their D gives it up pretty good too.
I think BC’s done pretty much what they we’re expected to do this year and they’ve owned ND…

I just think +250 has some value…

its a legit play

I won’t make it though, but I do think I’ll take bc +7.5

I wouldn't trust old rooster me neither.

I really like MSU this weekend

but given my record (and vegas’ record on iowa), hard to argue against you.

I wouldn't trust old rooster me neither.

I hope you're right, but I just don't see it in Sparty

but then again, I haven’t seen much of Sparty aside from the stealing victory from the jaws of FAIL against scUM.

a couple more...

…I like Army getting 10.5 at home tonight (they are improved and Rutgers stinks)

I like PSU tomorrow (covered 2 in a row)

Iowa (as stated)

Temple and Ohio (headed for an epic end of season MAC clash) meanwhile these two teams are covering their asses off (Ohio covered last 4 and Temple 4 of )

btw

What’s the line on the USC OrSU game? I’d love nothing more for the Beavers to pull off the “upset” two years in a row, even it will be tough playing USC in LA.

Oregon State +20.5

Betting man takes the Beavers with the points; crazy man (me) takes the Beavers winning straight up.

I'd go with the Beavers

but then again, I’d probably be betting on any PAC 10 opponent, because USC is going to drop another at some point, they’re just not that good this year.

in actual action

i parlayed pitt -6.5 and osu -16; see how those look before I put anything on the 3:30 games

I wouldn't trust old rooster me neither.

i just went big on penn state (now -3.5), and made a four team parlay: psu -3.5, miami -4, bc +7.5 and washington +9.
