THIS IS RUTGERS AL, AND HERE'S YOUR FRIDAY NIGHT OPEN THREAD
Rutgers at Army tonight on ESPN2. An Army upset at home could actually lead to a bowl berth for the Black Knights -- they're currently 3-4 with remaining and utterly winnable games against North Texas and VMI. And Rutgers? Chugging along harmlessly at 4-2, with losses against the only decent teams on their schedule (Cincy, Pitt). They'll end up with seven or eight wins and some irrelevant yawner bowl.
But you know who be there waiting for the Dear Old Rutgers Knights of Scarlet? This guy:
RutgersAl reviews Rutgers/Cincy (via RutgersAl)
It's Rutgers! It's Army! It's OPEN THREAD OF SUCK.

Been a long week, kids.
And I’m likely to spend tonight with the following: two beers, sushi dinner, dead asleep by 8:15. These late baseball games and a long meeting took its toll on me this afternoon. But at least it’s a beautiful night in Harrisburg and NOT TOTALLY POURING UNGODLY BUCKETS OF RAIN or anything.

One step ahead of you.
I’ve already had three beers sitting on the couch and had sushi for lunch.
I’m probably going to need a change of scenery for whatever football game I force myself to watch, though. That’s what it’s come to: what can I do on Friday night to make Saturday get here fastest?
Go Army!? I wish they’d wear those sick uniforms from last years A-N Game all the time.

Did they really wear those unis?
If so, they are the 2nd greatest cfb uniforms ever!

I hope Army wins by 5000
But they won’t. This will be awful. A boring game between two mediocre SEC teams would likely top this suckfest in excitement levels.
Is it Saturday yet?

Navy beating Notre Dame was just soooo awesome.

Oddly enough
I happened to be in Annapolis when Navy ended their losing streak against Notre Dame. We were eating dinner downtown before heading to see the Icers play Navy. We saw the end of the game and were kind of surprised how nonchalant everyone was — they acted like the had expected to win and it wasn’t a huge deal.

A little embarassed, tho'
The wife asks, “which game is on tonight?” So, completely unaware of the schedule, I say nothing really good is on Friday nights, so let’s see what Don Draper is up to (we’re in season #2). Then, my little friend TiVo enlightens me that The Army Team can get 66.6% bowl eligible tonight.
I show this to the wife, and she says, “Mr. Draper will have to wait!” And, that’s why she’s carrying my little Lion/Cadet/Phillie.
Gonna get some bourbon…

I am watching Paul Jones, and he is getting beat up pretty bad. He just got sacked twice and lost like 15 yards.

I’m a fan of Alyssa D’Errico.
Icers game starts in 20 minutes, so that’ll give me something else to focus on as well.

It was on a Comcast Cable - PCN Game of the Week.
Jones hasn’t been impressive at all. He’s going to be a major project. He is huge (like Rothlisberger) and has a gun but not polished at all. In fact, he has not played about half the offensive plays…maybe he is sick. They didn’t mention any thing.
From this game, Pitt got the better recruit from the Sto-Rox team. Andrew Carswell is a beast.

They just said Jones was shaken up,
so that’s why he isn’t playing. However, even early in the game, they held him out a lot?

The kid is still recovering from ankle surgery
I’m not surprised he’s struggling. And btw, every QB straight out of HS is technically a project, it just depends on how quickly they progress that determines how successful they will be.

What a surprise
Desmond Howard picks Penn State as the one loss team most likely to lose. scUM is the best offense in the B11 and PSU has been suspect at LB. Now that’s an unbiased assessment

can’t remember the last time he didn’t pick them in a home game – regardless of whom was favored.
scUM can’t afford any more alum ( Harbaugh ) or seating arrangements at away games
( Llolyd ) to toss any more negative vibes their way
