Apology to Josh Hull
Being one of the more vocal critics of Josh Hull in the preseason, I owe him an apology. Josh Hull has been superb in his play this year. While I still would have liked Mauti in the lineup, the way Josh Hull has played, I can't complain. Hull has finally found his knack for being around the football at the line of scrimmage. Also, how can you not enjoy watching the kid play with that mustache?

He started off slow
in the first half yesterday – getting a piggy back ride from Minor at one point – but you could say that about the whole defensive unit.
He (they) settled down and had a typical steady, solid game.
It is funny
I think if he had been a 4 star recruit we would never have given him such grief. Our walk on program has been a real boon to the program over the last years, and these kids have proven if they are on the field it is because they deserve to be.

You Are Correct Sir!
Black Shoes. Basic Blues. No Name. All Game.

What a great PSU story
From walk on DB to making some big bucks as a 3rd round draft pick, and the all-time receptions leader at PSU. Will always be one of my favorite players, and not just for his badass pre-game speeches.
Lber's next year...
With Hull and Lee definitely gone and Lavarro a great possibility, who do you see stepping up to fill these roles? Mauti would take over in the middle.
Is Stupar or Bani up to it? Colasanti? Glenn Carson? Fortt or Hullx2?
Next year will be the first time since Poz stepped in that we might not have an obvious chainlink to the previous class of linebackers.

Pure guess
Would be…
OLB: Bani/Hodges,
MLB: Mauti/Colasanti,
OLB: Stupar/Yancich
I believe
LaVarro will be back ( but I always want our jr.‘s / Sr.’s with eligibility to return ).
So here goes:
OLB – LaVarro / Fortt
MLB – Stupar / CC / Carson
OLB – Mauti / Bani

I'd assume Mauti in the middle
Stupe on the outside.
NittanyWhiteOut.com. Arguably the second best Penn State blog I know of.
that's wishful thinking
i’m sure if he truly is a disciple of LaVar, he’ll be gone.
obviously i hope he doesn’t…i just don’t wat to get my hopes up.
We decide when you hear the snap count...
I just took a look at the roster
to see who we missed.
Michael Zordich wasn’t mentioned. Anybody think he’ll stick at LBer or move?
I really hope Hodges is moved back to safety. Fear throwing across the middle.
Also, there are about 5 or so walk on freshman linebackers.
One man doing the work of 100's for the good of 1000's
Zordich is currently at fullback
Since Beachum effectively moved from FB to TB…
Bowman? Probably not.
We’d all like to see Navorro for another year, but I don’t know that it would be the best decision for him. He’ll have his degree (presumably) in the spring, he’s looking more and more like a mid-first-round pick, and doesn’t he have a family to support now? Sorry, but I’ll be way surprised if he doesn’t declare for the draft after this season.
Mauti (knee permitting), Carson, Hodges, Stupar, Gbanyu, Zordich, with Fortt in the wings - not much experience but good depth and decent speed. Hodges will almost certainly be OLB. Be of good cheer, folks; I can remember when Joe started a bunch of sophomores in ’67 and the defense was a monster.
I've been waiting for this...
That kid is all heart and a warrior on the field. It takes a big man to admit he was wrong.
Sounds like Cjj127...
woke-up to a knock on his door Sunday in the early morning hours, but instead of the Geico’s “band o’ cash w/ eyes”…it was Hull’s stache; which promptly greated him around his neck and tackled him to submission.
/ Cjj127 is still listed listed in stable – but – critical condition

I beg to differ, sir
We started a game we never got to finish. Play for blood, remember?

I've met Hodges a few times
he is not a large dude. i mean, he’s obviously more than capable of kicking most people’s arses, but he just doesn’t look to have the build of a linebacker, not even an OLB.
keep him as a SS.
We are gonna shock them with 5,000 mega watts of raw ROO POWER.
I wouldn't even think Sean Lee played football by appearance.
He looks more like a tennis player, but as we know he could kill all of us with his pinky.

idk, he's pretty huge.
aaaand cue “that’s what she said”

I’ve met Hodges (and Newsome) at a party. Hodges was definitely not as imposing as I had expected. Shorter and thinner than I had anticipated. Definitely not someone I would ever want to mess with, however.
Also probably the nicest football player I’ve ever met. He was very quiet and humble, and apparently he doesn’t even drink. He did take exception to my friend calling him ‘broseph’ however.
Elaboration please
What form did ‘take exception’ take?

I have been cheering for Hull AND his stache most of the season...
he has done a helluva job getting better throughout the season and I never thought he would be where he is now once Mauti went down. Kudos to both Hull and his lip rider
