Big Ten Rooting Interests: October 31 (Adam Rittenberg)
Sigh. Wishing for anything positive to happen to USC brings me great pain, but I see his point. I'm still struggling to understand how they're ranked this much ahead of LSU (who beat the team USC lost to, and lost to the #1 team in the nation. Oh yeah, plays in the OMG ESS EE CEE).

Personal rooting interests
I like to keep it simple: root for everyone ranked above us to lose, and everyone we’ve already beaten to win. Usually those are mutually exclusive… Never root for ND, Pitt, FSU, Michigan, or Ohio State. Ever. If any of those teams play each other, you root for the refs to make the game unbearable to enjoy so in effect no one wins.

I agree, but would add USC to the "never root for" list

I don't get why USC or LSU are ranked highly
LSU sucks. I’m sorry, I’ve watched them 3 or 4 times, and they’re no good. They would be in a dogfight with Michigan. They’d lose to Michigan State. They’d be at BEST the #4 team in the Big Ten. LSU is awful.

Yeah, I hesitantly agree to an extent
They really had no business beating Mississippi State.

Go Oregon.
A more interesting Oregon team should get the Pac-10 crown. If PSU wins out and a two-loss USC goes to a BCS bowl over them, so be it. At least we could point to the unfairness of the system which is what we all want.
All PSU can do is play—whatever fate befalls them is in the hands of the college football morass.

More ass is right.
Go Oregon! I harbor no ill will towards you; may you beat the Trojans so epically that even Mark May has to admit Penn State should be in a BCS game and not USC.

Wow, that would take an epic win indeed
147-0, or something along those lines.

Keeping an eye on the VT-UNC game
A win by UNC will likely be helpful to our cause

The ACC his hilarious. I can’t wait to see another 4-loss champ in the BCS this year.

And yet they still get all this hype every year.
Miami has actually been pretty good, but in hindsight now, they BARELY beat a horrible FSU team.
