Don't Blame Temple
College Football WONKS have been dissing PSU's out-of-conference schedule this year, so PSU, Clark, Odrick, and others get no real play on the national scene. They are wrong. Half of Big Ten teams are rated equal to or lower than Temple! The conference is the problem.
Iowa, PSU, and OSU will be playing up against higher-rated bowl teams in highly-visible bowl games. They might win this year, and gain credibility for the conference nationally.
Everybody else in the conference sucks.
Sagarin computer ratings are an average of the 'politically correct' computer ratings, that do not take into account the score of the games, and a ' Predictor' program , that takes into account the scores. They are what they are, and they produce the following results for Rankings this week.
74 Purdue
75 Temple
98 Northwestern
99 Indiana
100 Syracuse
128 Illinois
Michigan State,43, Michigan, 46, and Minnesota, 59 will probably get bowl elegible, and because the Big Eleven already has contracts, they will all probably have to play-up against higher-rated opponents this year. All will be underdogs, with losses more probable than wins.
Don't Blame Sagarin!
Don't Blame Temple, who will probably win 8-9 games in the MAC this year.
For the Glory,
Joe From Boalsburg

That's not the worst of it!
Eastern Illinois is 6-2, after beating Jacksonville State of Bobby Bowden fame this year.

Nice try...
“Half of Big Ten teams are rated equal to or lower than Temple!”
Yeah, let’s restate that: “statistical rankings suck at trying to interpret a loss to an FCS team!”
All of the statistical rankings that try to rank FCS+FBS together have horrible matching problems between the two – last year some had James Madison ranked as high as #25 or higher while others (with basically the same methodology, just a few basic changes) had them ranked in the 100s.
“Don’t Blame Temple, who will probably win 8-9 games in the MAC this year.”
Seven’s safe. They’ll probably lose to Navy. They’ll probably beat Akron and Miami-Ohio, both of whom look god-awful. They might sweep both Ohio and Kent State, but they could easily lose both as well.

maybe it’ll help our computer rankings :-D

While I'm happy for Golden
Look at the records of the teams that Temple has beaten during this 5 game streak:
Buffalo: 3-5 (1-3)
Eastern Michigan: 0-7 (0-4)
Ball State: 1-7 (1-3)
Army: 3-5
Toledo: 4-4 (2-2)
I have a hard time believing that they are better than Northwestern or Indiana.
This year
is a perfect storm of crappy conference and weak OOC.
Are you talking about us or Texas?
DO YOU HAVE PRIDE, DANNY?
