Luck be a Lady Lion
New Mexico State +44 at Ohio State
Apparently the Aggies are awful. I don't care; the %uckeyes aren't good enough to lay 44 points against anyone. nmsu +44
Purdue +7 at Wisconsin
One of the more intriguing big11 matchups of the week. I like the Badgers to cover at Camp Randall; just feels like they'll show up for this one. WISCY -7
Indiana +17.5 at Iowa
I remember the last time Iowa was favored by 17 and a half at home: when the Red Wolves of Arkansas State made things interesting in the fourth quarter. Same thing happens tomorrow. Hoosiers +17.5
Penn State -15 at Northwestern
Second straight game wearing the whites, not to mention playing in Evanston where we always have trouble. This game might not be close, but I still don't think we cover. NW +15
Michigan -7 at Illinois
The wolverines get to lick their wounds against the big11's whipping boy; I like the Harvard of Ypsilanti big: scUM -7
Michigan State -3.5 at Minnesota
Normally, aftter a game like last weekend's, Sparty folds. Same thing might happen here, if only Goldy didn't suck. MSU -3.5
Texas -8.5 at Okalahoma State
I don't know the big 12 that well, but I know that Texas ain't all that. They probably win, but not by more than a touchdown. OSU +8.5
Southern Cal -3 at Oregon
Pete Carrol loses road PAC 10 games to major underdogs. The Trojans get up for big games. They roll tomorrow: USC -3.
Last week: 4-1 in the big ten; 1-0 in other games; 5-1 overall
Total: 9-9 in the big ten; 4-2 in other games; 13-11 overall

Agree/Disagree
I like Wiscy, Mich, and Mich St (I like MSU alot in this game, even if it is in Minne). I think PSU covers and I think Texas covers. Not touching the OSU game (44 is too much for any bet) nor the Iowa game (too many Qs). Also that USC/Oregon game is going to be close, probably a game time decision. Cowherd is playing the USC skin flute on the radio right now, but I’m leaning toward an Oregon bet (as are others, the spread will probably come down to 2 or 1).
West Virginia tonight is something of a lock, as USF is without Groethe and is generally playing poor football.
We’re gonna try a 12 team parlay this weekend just for shiggles (payout is 1800 to 1).
last weekend
was full of games I liked enough to actually bet on; this weekend…I don’t know. I maybe take Indiana and/or Michigan, but those would be the only big11 games.
I’ll probably take USC, because I feel strong about that, but I’ll probably wait for it to drop to at least 2.5.
I wouldn't trust old rooster me neither.
Iowa will win by 400!
NMSU +44
Purdue +7
Indiana -17.5
Penn State +15
Michigan -7
Michigan State -3.5
Oklahoma State +8.5
Oregon +3
DO YOU HAVE PRIDE, DANNY?
You're dead on with your pick of Indiana
No way Iowa covers that spread after how many guys we lost last week. If you want to play to win money, don’t bet on Iowa.
They took the bar, the whole fucking bar!

But it's Indiana.
Not even practice. We talkin ’bout Indiana.

Indiana's 5-1
against the spread this year; the almost beat Michigan (in Ann Arbor), who played Iowa tight (in Kinnick).
I think Indiana’s better this year (though still not good) and Iowa’s going to be taking a breathe this weekend. It just seems like a let down game for them.
I wouldn't trust old rooster me neither.
Have you watched Iowa this year?
EVERY game is a “let down game” for them because they always play down to the level of the opponent because Ferentz doesn’t care what the score is.

well
the PSU game wasn’t a “let down game,” and I would say the same thing about last week (because I think MSU is pretty good and played Iowa tough), and the Michigan game.
But, yeah, Ferentz’s coaching style is one reason to take the points.
I wouldn't trust old rooster me neither.
Indiana Iowa’s Iowa? They’ve shown they can score points. Iowa’s hurt and always plays down…. Iowa’s been just getting by in every game… I kind of like Indiana here… but then again, i’ve liked Iowa to lose for the past 3 weeks now… I don’t know, I guess I just can’t help myself… Hoosiers for the win! havn’t seen the money line but i’m sure it’s a nice payout…
yeah, I haven't looked at the money line either
but unc was +15.5 last night and +600 on the moneyline, so Indiana’s probably around +650 or +700. Would be an epic fail for Iowa to lose to the Hoosiers, but you never know…
I wouldn't trust old rooster me neither.
I know I’m being very stubborn but I just don’t believe Iowa’s very good. I know even good teams that go undefeated get lucking once or twice along the way but I feel like Iowa’s been lucky in every game… I’m still calling their win against PSU a major upset and they’re luckily beating everyone else they’re suppose to…
How was it a major upset?
Come on. They kicked our ass. Our line was dominated, our QB was rattled, and they ran ball on us at the end when it counted.

Or, if you prefer Paterno's words, they licked us

I respectfully disagree. They did not kick our ass. an uncharacteristic turnover by our best player kicked our ass. the game was about as even as you can get except for the Turnovers. total yards: PSU 307 Iowa 298. TOP: PSU 28minutes Iowa 31. 17 first downs for Iowa 15 for PSU…
the blocked punt falls directly on the coaching staff because there is no reason a safty should be in that spot to block a DE rushing a punt…
The turnovers certainly didn't help...
2 balls tipped by our own receivers into the hands of the opponent tipped the scales in that game quite a big, BUT we also gave up crucial first downs when we had to have stops toward the end, and they exploited our biggest weakness on special teams. Give them credit. We don’t give Ohio State any extra credit for beating them in 2005 right after they made the switch to Troy Smith, so I’m not taking any credit for losing to Iowa before we peaked either. Fair is fair.
Characteristcs
It is characteristic of Daryll Clark to thrown interceptions or otherwise make mistakes when he is under pressure. And he was under pressure, because Iowa kicked our offensive line’s asses.

And who caused the fumble?
One of Iowa’s linebackers who didn’t give up on the play and recovered to force the fumble.

I guess I'm one of the few going for the Purdon't upset of Wiscy?
This was supposed be Bulemia’s (misspelling intended) last year before he was run out of town, and now they’re skating away on a pretty easy schedule. They still haven’t had one of those “Why the hell is this guy still our coach” losses this year, so I’m leaning towards Purdue in this one, but I don’t think it’s their last loss either.
Purdue's tough
you never know what you’re going to get with them, even in the middle of a game, they’ll be hot for part of it and cold for another part. I can’t decide if I think the Ohio State upset was them learning how to play an entire game and Ohio State sucking, or them getting lucky and being hot for the entire game, and Ohio State sucking. Then they played Illinois and that tells me virtually nothing. I can’t pick Purdue until they show more consistency but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if you get the points for that one.

Actually it can probably be explained by the 5 turnovers tOSU had
but the fact that a lowly Purdue team actually capitalized on those turnovers to win the game might say something.
