Not to be a total dick or anything, but...
Playing USC counts for quite a bit in a comparison against a schedule that features Eastern Illinois, Temple, Syracuse and Akron.
I’m not sure anyone has said our OOC schedule has been “great”, but I don’t think it’s going out on a limb to say it was better than Penn State’s.

No one’s arguing you don’t have the better SOS, but I think the point was that USC is not that good this year. You guys should have won, but Pryor made short work of that.

As far as USC not being that good, I agree, they’re not the killer they usually are. But their mere presence on the schedule still makes a comparison of the two OOC slates laughable.
I happen to think the OOC schedule of both teams has absolutely no effect whatsoever on this game, anyway.

Who has Penn State played since Iowa? Michigan? Ohio State played Wisconsin. Seems like a roughly comparable set of games to me.

The Big 11 is not strong from top to bottom. After Iowa, OSU and PSU, it’s pretty pathetic! Nobody should take a win from any of the ather teams as a “tough” victory.

Look
Scheduling sucks at the big ten schools. We can play one good game home and home and the rest have to be home games. OSU perfected that yeas ago when Woody never played a game out side the Mid-west (except the Rose Bowl) for like 10 years or whatever.
You guys knew that 88,000 fans were much better than an away pay day. We’ve got Bama the next couple of years, so that kind of equals USC.

Yeah, he wasn't as bad as people think, for certain
Just had serious issues controlling his temper. But I think if people actually bothered to “get to know him” – by talking with former players, reading some of the things he wrote, hearing some of the things he said – he’d grow quite a bit on them. He was a good, honest guy with an unbelievable temper.
