Luck be a Lady Lion
The Nittany Lions are off the board this week, but I'm gonna go ahead and say we win by 41, but feel deflated by watching Kevin Newsome struggle through the last quarter and a half.
I really like Michigan +8 and LSU +7.5. Everything else: meh.
Michigan State -4 at ILLINOIS
Sparty's got the big11 right where they want them. Not quite; Zook's coaching for his life. ILL +4
Miami +19 at NORTHWESTERN
Northwestern's not good enough to be a 19 point favorite, even if Wilbon's wearing a purple pocket square. Miami +19
Purdue +3.5 at MINNESOTA
I'm baffled, so I'll take the points. Purdue +3.5
Indiana +6.5 at VIRGINIA
I'm taking the Hoosiers again, mostly because I hate UVA (and their win last week says more about UNC than it does bout them). Indiana +6.5
Wisconsin +16 at OSU
These teams aren't 16 points apart on paper. But Tressel + the horseshoe will put it away early. OSU -16.
Michigan +8 at IOWA
Forcier's not as good as I think; Stanzi's not as good as you think. Ferentz plays to win by 3, not by 8. Michigan +8
Florida -7.5 at LSU
I can get LSU in the bayou, a touchdown and a hook? Yes, please. LSU +7.5
Georgia Tech +3 at FSU
Bet on death; bet against distraction. Tech +3.
Last week: 2-4 in the Big Ten; 2-0 in other games; 4-4 overall
Total: 2-4 in the Big Ten; 2-0 in other games; 4-4 overall

1) I’m not sure it’s possible for Stanzi to be overrated when last week some BHGP commenter said “I kinda want him to get hit by a car”.
2) I’m curious. Why do you hate UVA? Isn’t that like hating a kitten with a broken leg?

I have nothing against their football team, per se
Its more the students and alumni. They’re the Michigan of the Southeast; a bunch of kids who think they’re better than everyone else; and who actually might be, if only they weren’t so arrogant.
I wouldn't trust old rooster me neither.

The first UVA kid I saw wearing
an Oxford and a tie to a football game was begging for a dropkick to the face. Then I saw the other 1,000. And I felt too tired to even begin.
Arrogant, definitely.

Used to live in Charlottesville...
for about 2 yrs. Arrogant absolutely but only when their sports teeams are close to .500 or better. When they aren’t or below they simply remind you they try to achieve ivy league type academic status.
And, why is their only comeback: “Yeah? well you couldn’t get into UVA”? Which is totally true but at least I still don’t believe Thomas Jefferson still walks around monticello.

"ivy league academic status"
is what i’m talking about when I say arrogant. Virginia is a good public university, but its not an ivy league school.
I probably could have gotten into UVA (I got into UofM out of state), but why the hell would I want to try? For the privilege of wearing a tie to a football game?
Here are two truths: one, the education you get at all undergrad schools is largely the same. If you take American History 101 at Harvard or at Middle Tennessee State, you’re going to read the same books and learn the same sh^t. Sure, the degree from Harvard is more valuable, as are the contacts, but the education is pretty much the same. The gap is narrowed between top-flight public schools. We can argue about what’s the best (non-Northwetern) academic institution in the big ten, but the answer is: we’re all about equal. Penn State’s better in metereology and Iowa’s better in English, but everything prety much comes out in the wash.
The real difference in education is found in graduate programs.
And the second truth: more than half the students at UVA couldn’t have gotten in if they didn’t live in VA in the first place. They’re arrogant and talk about being the Harvard of Appalachia or whatever the hell, but really, they’re just lucky to grow up in a state with a history of an above-average public university. And, here again, the undergrads/alums are really just riding on the coattails of the graduate programs’ prestige.
I wouldn't trust old rooster me neither.

Illinois +4 (I think MSU wins, but I think they’re just incompetent enough to nearly pull a “SPARTY NO!”)
Miami +19
Purdue +3.5
Indiana +3.5
Wisconsin +16
Iowa -8
LSU +7.5
GaTech +3

I waffled on the Wiscy/OSU game
I ended up picking OSU because they’re good at just flat out blowing teams out. But I think that Wiscy could actually give them a run for their money.
I’ll be shocked if Iowa covers, but stranger things have happened.

gators
I like them with or without Tebow this weekend
LSU = false five and oh record

I like the Tigers
whether or not Tebow plays.
I’m a sucker for the home dog, but this line just seems nuts. I’d put it at 4 or 4.5.

I hope they both lose... but hey, that's just me

I really don't know if I'm ready to say Wiscy is a good team yet
at least I hope not, I thought Bertie would be gone after this season, I still think he leads them to self-destruction. Even despite Pryor’s inconsistency, I don’t see Wiscy winning that game.

I don't think they're winning, but I think they keep it within at least 14-15

no way wiscy wins
the question is if they lose by more or less than 16. I’m saying more than 16.
I wouldn't trust old rooster me neither.

I love Wiscy +16
OSU’s offense is bad……as long as Wiscy’s D has a pulse, this is a close game

Agreed
But OSU’s defense is nasty, and I can seem them holding Wiscy to 3 or 6 points.

I dunno
Wisconsin’s o-line may be the best OSU’s seen (you can put me in the camp that thinks Musburger might have been over-estimating USC’s “giant” o-line), John Clay is good, and Tolzien looks shockingly competent for a Bielema QB.
I say 20-10, Ohio State.

I'll do one better
And say 27-10 for the cover!
