FWIW, Joe Lunardi doesn't have this year's basketball squad making the round of 64. The Big Ten gets 7 hypothetical teams in the dance. Not a huge surprise considering the loss of Cornley and Pringle coupled with the overall predicted improvement in the Big Ten. Let's hope the boys prove him wrong this year with their (slightly) beefed up schedule.

Realistically?

We’ll be a step down from last year. A mid-level NIT team, probably, maybe a #2 or #3 seed again. 2011? We’re going dancing, and you can quote me on that.

Not so sure about 2011

I hate to say it, but that’s just my feeling.

The conference will be even tougher.

Taran Buie is going to be crazy good.

dont get all wet over Battle's brother....

he is an ESPN top 100 player… best recruit we’ve gotten in a long time (ever?)

But to put it in perspective…Ohio State has 4 top 100 players… yikes

I know a lot more than they know. I'm going to do what I believe is in the kid's best interest. That's what this whole thing is about.-Joe Paterno

They all can't have 4 top 100 players though.

Aren’t there 300+ D1 teams out there? I’ll take Battle and Buie and the gang’s chances. Probably the best chance we’ll have in a while.

7th or 8th in the Big Ten sounds about like our ceiling this year.

Don’t see us improving on last year’s record considering the harder schedule + loss of three scorers.

We may take a step back this year

but so long as we maintain a somewhat consistent level of success, is anyone really going to complain? I’d be proud if we went far in the NIT again this season, honestly. Maintaining some level of success is a perfect stepping stone to improvement for this BBall team.

7-11

Would be a good B10 Season I think, and something this young team should be proud of.
