I've seen some rumors to the
affect of Stoops (hi, I’m Bob) to ND.
For UM’s sake if and when RR does get forced out they have the good sense to have someone ready and willing to take the job rather than the recent debacle.
One man doing the work of 100's for the good of 1000's
I'll be a little surprised if they don't fire Robinson
2010 schedule:
September 4 Connecticut TBA TBA
September 11 @ Notre Dame TBA TBA
September 18 Massachusetts TBA TBA
September 25 Bowling Green TBA TBA
October 2 @ Indiana TBA TBA
October 9 Michigan State TBA TBA
October 16 Iowa TBA TBA
October 30 @ Penn State TBA TBA
November 6 Illinois TBA TBA
November 13 @ Purdue TBA TBA
November 20 Wisconsin TBA TBA
November 27 @ Ohio State TBA TBA
Best case scenario, in my opinion: 8-4. Losses to us, ND, OSU, Iowa. That will probably be good enough.
DO YOU HAVE PRIDE, DANNY?
If ND does fire Weis, they probably won't go 3-9 next year
Clausen, Kamara, Floyd, Tate (presumably), and other skill guys will be back. Easy schedule.
So maybe they’ll have more of an incentive. Who knows.
DO YOU HAVE PRIDE, DANNY?
I think if they fire Weis all those guys go to draft
Why stay around for senior seaosn and have to learn a new system
How could Nixon know so little about Watergate and so much about football ?
Not everyone goes to an entirely new system like RichRod did (regardless of justification)

I don't mean a new system like running teh option as opposed to pro style
but even if they kept pro style, all coaches run their own plays, have their own names for plays. They will have to learn a new playbook etc.
How could Nixon know so little about Watergate and so much about football ?
That doesn't surprise me

He’s already got those 3 Heismans – what else does he have to play for at ND?
"God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy"
They could paint his picture over Touchdown Jesus.
just a thought.

If someone was able to pull off painting a picture of Weis on TD Jesus
it might be the greatest/most hilarious day of my life.

Everyone is going to go with the potential rookie cap.
Truth or not, just the threat is going to push everyone in, I believe.

He's already what, 23?
It’s not like he’s some 19 year old kid who needs the extra time to grow into an NFL body.
One man doing the work of 100's for the good of 1000's
If Michigan had kept Carr
Mallett would be throwing for 3000 yards for them and not Arkansas this season
On a side note
firing RR would be ridiculous. He installed a completely different offense. Next year would be the year to judge his performance when his recruits at least have a year or two under their belt. Are they going to hire a coach that runs the pro-style offense and have to go through another two year conversion period?
Solely for the sake of Schadenfreude, I hope so...

RR should be fired
Because besides the off-the-field shenanigans he’s in to, he should have eased his team into a new system instead of completely changing gears and screwing everything up for two + years.

GERG is gone
just look at the AD’s comments. So is Weis. The paper in South Bend was throwing around Bob Stoops and Kirk Ferenz on College Football Live today.
JoePa in '09
I'm not saying
that is who they will get. I am saying that is who the guy mentioned on TV a little bit ago. I think there is a better chance they get Mike Stoops then Bob Stoops but what do I know.

That wasn’t directed towards you, sorry about that. ND fans claiming to land every coach they offer is a 20 year old joke that never gets funny because it’s as true as stereotypes get, despite the fact they offered Meyer and he turned them down for Florida program that had just one MNC in their entire history at that point.
BSD
Kirk Ferentz? They're dreaming
That guy is staying at Iowa until he retires. Certainly until he wins a Rose Bowl for them.
Stoops? OU fans are currently pining for the days of Barry Switzer and his NCAA troubles

I, for one, welcome our new Irish overlords.
Looking forward to:
1. Weis fired. Blame placed on (a) academic standards, (b) Ty Willingham, © trigger happy boosters.
2. OMG NOTER DAIM IS DA BEST COACHING JOB EVAR. ESPN speculates on likely replacements, none of whom would dare leave their current positions: Urban Meyer, Joe Paterno, Kirk Ferentz, Vince Lombardi, Bill Parcells.
3. Embarrassing and lengthy coaching search proceeds, fraught with leaks, puffery, and other sorts of bullshit.
4. Lee Corso suggests painting a headset on Touchdown Jesus.
5. Notre Dame hires Brian Kelly, fires him after a 7-5 season in 2013.
6. Repeat.

Stoops to coach the D
Meyer to coach the O
Beamer to coach special teams
The 12 Apostles to play
Rudy to be offsides
ND to continue irrelevance
Navy to continue winning streak in South Bend. May it hit 50 games.

What about Poseidon?
He’s got to have a position doesn’t he?

WAIT, HOLD ON A DAMN MINUTE
ESPN actually threw out Joe FREAKING Paterno as a possible replacement for Weis? Are you serious? If that’s true, ESPN has lost the last shread of journalistic integrity they had (and trust me, that shread was like a tooth pick holding up mount everest). Now they aren’t only biased sports news coverage, they’re freaking delusional.
Please tell me you're kidding
That you read the rest of that list, and got the joke. tWWl is bad, but not that bad.
Actually I wasn't, and I'm an idiot
It seemed like something on their level, but an utterly shocking level which is why I reacted with utter befuddlement

It may be
that the only thing that saves Fat Charlie is if Jimmy Clausen pulls a Jimmy Chitwood…
“Coach stays I stay, he goes I go….”
Land Grant or bust! Worst 10-2 team ever? Beat Michigan State.
And then Jimmy leads them to a season where their best win comes over a 6-6 Michigan team

Next year sounds like a good year for schadenfreude
Then again, we might have our own troubles, but still Michigan and ND in turmoil and utter chaos is an EPIC BONUS.

If anything, they stole that refrence from me.
That is my own work, I do not plagerize.

Notre Dame should look at Mangino for a potential replacement
They absolutely must get fatter at coach
Sounds like last year
The fat man is staying. This was the same noise we were hearing at the end of last year. A lot of unsubstantiated reports of Notre Dame secretly putting out feelers, a lot of “what ifs”, and a lot of discussion over Notre Dame being totally willing to shell out millions upon millions of dollars just to dump the doughball.
I just don’t buy into it. I know Notre Dame supposedly has a vault of gold coins that Scrooge McDuck would love to swim in, but I just can’t think they’d be able to swallow their pride, fire a guy they just gave a ridiculous extension to, and pay him a ridiculous amount of money. I think they will throw a saddle on Lardass and ride him for another season or two, regardless of what happens the rest of this year.

And Michigan
isn’t going to fire Rodriguez already. If next season doesn’t result in 7 wins, then they might. I realistically think they should hang on until after season 4, regardless of what the record is the first 3 years. Schools toss coaches aside way too quickly, and if you’re hiring a guy to implement a new style of offense you have to give him a few years to try to get the pieces together.

The hidden factor may be if powerful persons behind the scenes
have discovered the cold fact that RR is in fact an a**hole
+1
Just for the mental imagery of ‘throw a saddle on Lardass and ride him for another season or two’

Do you guys remember that time Michigan beat Notre Dame back in September?
In retrospect, it was like Ali vs. Frazier.. if they fought today.
