Penn State's Other Football Team
The Big Ten got 5 teams into the NCAA tournament including: Ohio State (seeded 4th), Penn State (seeded 7th), Northwestern (seeded 9th), Michigan State (seeded 14th, even after we trounced them 3-0 in the Big Ten Tournament semi-finals) and Indiana (un-seeded).
Penn State suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship Game, but still earned a first round bye. They will play their first game on Sunday, November 22 at 1:00 pm and it will be at home, where Penn State has not lost this year; however, in what will almost surely evoke memories of Cresap's War, they will take on the winner of the Loyola, Md. vs. University of Maryland game. The University of Maryland is the defending NCAA champion.
Anyways, admission to the game is free to all PSU students and, although it likely won't be the highlight of your weekend, it should still be fun to watch this game. Penn State boasts the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and the Big Ten Tournament Offensive MVP, in Jason Yeisley and Corey Hertzog, respectively.

Wow. Nice war name drop.
It’s usually RR dropping the obscure battle/war references, but throwing out Cresap’s War takes some effort. Although, after clicking on the link, I think they should have stuck with Conojocular War.
I referenced Agincourt on BHGP yesterday
If that’s obscure, then so is Stalingrad or Culloden.

just because you drop the obscure reference sometimes
doesn’t mean that ALL references you drop are obscure

I've had a scotch at Culloden
"For me the game wasn’t grounded in reality. It was about the uniform you put on that turned you into a warrior. It was about the mythology of the battle, the victory, the defeat, the struggle." - Mike Reid, PSU '69
Would a Monkey read Nietzsche?
Sure he would, he just wouldn’t understand it.
Land Grant or bust! Worst 10-2 team ever? Beat Michigan State.
I think I see what you did there
I do like monkeys, so maybe that explains it.

Oh man
Don’t even get me started on the Chesapeake Bay and it’s status. That could provoke a looooong non-football rant from me, and I don’t think anyone wants that.

Bingo
The state of Virginia is trying to hang that albatross on the neck of land developers by tightening regulations even more, while completely whiffing on the fact the watershed exists outside of this state. Neighboring states, and the agricultural industry, aren’t doing enough. But ag has a lobbying group, so they don’t get touched.

b...b..but
I see signs that I’m entering the watershed all the time, going to and from Penn State. Not really sure what I’m supposed to do differently after seeing those signs, of course…

Who says Droyds aren't
plotting their takeover of the world. I can’t think of anyother reason for such attention to warmongering – unless of course you just like a man in uniform.

For any NJ soccer fans out there:
Looking at the brackets, there’s a chance Penn State could be playing Monmouth U. in the 3rd round. Having seen Monmouth play a few times this season, I was very impressed with this team (and their fan support) from such a small school.
