Tiger Uppercut!
Seriously, why does it have to get to YouTube before league officials do anything about it?
"Is that right?" Joe answered. "That’s not a problem. But you’ve got a problem. You don’t relate to me. And that’s a big problem."

Wow
Along these same lines, has anyone seen the footage of Brandon Spikes gouging the Georgia RB’s eyes out this weekend?

That's some punk bitch shite right there
What a wuss. These dudes that think this kind of stuff is thug are just so misguided. Like Sean Taylor spitting on an opponent, or pissing all over a toilet seat. Dude needs his ass kicked in a real street fight.
He needs a Devon Still to stand there and say Sack up and Stab me.
What a freakin wuss. Definitely gonna follow these responses this week.

Urban's Discipline
Found here. Some gems:
“I don’t condone that,” Meyer said. “I understand what goes on on the football (field), but there’s no place for that. We’re going to suspend Brandon for the first half of the Vanderbilt game. I spoke with him. That’s not who he is. That’s not who we are. He got caught up in emotion.”
Not exactly the perfect apology, but still saying all the right cliched things. But Jebow keeps the fire stoked.
“I don’t think that we did anything in that game that they didn’t do,” Tebow said Monday. “If you go back and look at it and study it, you can see it in the film, too. It was an intense game, both teams were very passionate about it.”
Nice one-two punch.

wow, Jebow (or is it Tebus) didn't turn the other cheek?

I'm not a history buff
but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t Jesus who commanded “An eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth”. If I remember right, and this is going waaaaaaay back to 6th grade history, that was Hammurabi of Mesopotamia.

+ 1
because any time Devon Still’s “Sack up and stab me” quote is brought up, I just…well I don’t really know what I think.

Oh Yeah, it was truly disgusting
Mike Golic had a pretty good rant going about it on mike and mike this morning. He was right, it was truly disgusting.
That kid could have potentially been blinded. For what? Why? Because mean Mark Richt let his kids run on the field and celebrate? To show how tough you are? If Urban Meyer does not say something about this and penalize that kid, he has officially lost what little respect for him that I had. I mean he is such a class guy that cares about his kids, so yeah

This is a case where ESPN can do some actual good for the sport
By plastering it all over their radio and TV they can raise awareness and force Florida to at least acknowledge the incident. By doing so they hopefully force a reaction which should be at least 1 game suspension (even if it is against FIU).

Don't worry about it...
Meyer said that if the allegations are true he will have a “serious talk” with him
How could Nixon know so little about Watergate and so much about football ?

so what does that mean
mean daddy urban is gonna give him a spanking? i guess he could find a way to tie that in with his and tebow’s role play.

Yeah, i equate it to the Blount situation.
Spikes may or may not have been “baited” and Blount may or may not have been given a “too severe” penalty. However, the two individual actions are equal in my eyes. In fact, Spikes was probably worse because he could have potentially permanently damaged that kid’s vision. A punch is a punch, you will recover, but you can’t regain your eyesight. Spikes was really really digging in there like he was going to find a pot of gold or something,
I would give him probably 3 games at minimum, or somewhere in that range.
Only a half,…..against Vanderbilt? At least get some fake balls, Urban and suspend him the whole game, its not like it will matter.

Dunno about the Blount comparison
Unless Spikes was raging against everyone in sight and had to be stopped from going into the stands, I wouldn’t quite call it equal.
I do agree that a half is a complete joke.

Well, let me rephrase.
Just the punching part, not the aftermath. That was absurd.

Blount
This is worse than Blount. Blount was heat of the moment…team losing, being taunted. His reaction was disproportionate, but at least he was angry.
On the other hand, Spikes made a calculated, malicious attempt to hurt the ballcarrier. That is much worse in my view.

I agree
I think that is what I was trying to say.
I could never ever see myself trying what Spikes did.
However, I have lost my temper in the heat of the moment. I never had a freak out quite like Blount, but I can not guarantee that i never would.

I saw this live and noticed it
It’s stuff like this that will get RR fired. The fans hate the losing, but they can stomach it if they feel like the winged helmets are fighting the good fight, going to class, and representing their university with honor. But they will not tolerate NCAA investigations and cheap shots by the players.

these shananigans would be par for the course in the SEC, but at Michigan they do have standards. I hope they address it, the least they can do is suspend the kid for a game to formally condemn the act.. I’d be surprised if Florida even publically acknowledges the Spikes eye gouge.

It is actually a good strategy employed by RichRod
When team is getting beaten severely, start going for the gonads, that is sure to slow down anyone. It is also known as going old school and the audible is sack go

Did anyone else take a tour of MGoBlog’s post-game meltdown on the message boards? Those people were seriously upset.

They have excuses
They claim Ortman being teabagged by Liguet justified the crotch shot. It is duly noted Liguet was taunting by walking up on Ortman, but there’s no excuse for the nut punch. If there’s a nut punch for every taunt in football, few football players would be parents.

But hey, he was getting teabagged and taunted apparently
so, I believe the NCAA rule is “a shot to the nads is hunky dory when a player is being tea bagged and taunted by another”, I could be paraphrasing though.
