NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT

It doesn't matter if you "won't remember them" years from now because we'll probably all be dead years from now.

Yeah, it's great, isn't it?

Is that an Orange Bowl rep?
Don’t they seal deals with a handshake anymore? I blame Obama for all this touchy feely crap. Is there anyone on the planet he hasn’t hugged yet?

Why didn't Ferentz bow?

If we've lost Ferentz to the touchy feelers, then we've lost them all

After reading your "unforgettable season" post, I think you need a hug
Or some beer. Or bacon.
"God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy"
It's a pick your poison deal:
Our last three Presidents:
Obama bows to people or gives them a hug.
Bush held hands with Abdullah and have Merkel a backrub
Clinton….well, let’s not even talk about that. Good God.

I think holding hands is worse
Since the kiss thing is a custom. I don’t think holding hands is.

Not in that case, it's not
There was a video posted on youtube, showing different leaders meeting the Japanese guy. None of them bowed.
I don’t know what it was all about. Doesn’t matter anyway.

According to the article I just linked to, it may be a custom
Anyway, this was all sarcastic humor to begin with.

I know you were joking
I was just trying to point out that bowing is a Japanese custom. However, I did not realize that there was a “correct” bow at a slight angle. I thought the deeper the bow, the more “honor” you showed to another person, but then again I’m not a foreign policy major.
Here:

A quick scanning of those comments
It’s about 10% to do with Obama/Conservatives lack of Japanese culture knowledge, and about 90% arguing the use of the atomic bomb on Japan 60 years ago.

A buddy of mine is the
head of the Democratic party in an undisclosed location in PA. They got the lowdown that Obama was going to attend thier church the Sunday he was in town stumpig for votes. Buddy, not really a church going guy, quickly assembled the kids and wife in their Sunday best and got them prime seats for the festivities.
After the service, Obama was hugging everyone and a reporter snaps a shot of the Presidential candidate shaking Buddy’s 10 yr old son’s hand. The reporter asks son about his impressive suit for a kid and asks if he dresses up every Sunday. Kid tells reporter that they don’t really go to church until today so he really doesn’t have to deal with suits often.
Buddy shakes head at blown operation.

So
I guess this means Iowa has the Orange? Seems premature to me, but if so, this sucks for me as a PSU fan but is awesome for me as a critic of the BCS. The more teams with no TV following that get BCS bowls, the closer we are to destroying the system.

It doesn't mean anything
And Iowa has TV following. They’re not TCU.

Saying so doesn't necessarily make it so
Eyeballs mean $. BCS wants $. More eyeballs means more $. More eyeballs is thus good in the minds of the BCS animal. Penn State > Iowa in that case. Simply taking my statement of “no TV following” in it’s strictest form and implying I meant nobody watches Iowa on TV is a little absurd.
I don’t think we “earned” a BCS bowl this year, but I also don’t think Iowa “earned” one either. Whether we get it or Iowa does, I don’t really care. But I think there is a completely rational, reasonable argument for PSU getting the bid. Dismissing the possibility because Iowa beat us heads-up is again, a little absurd. Far more retarded things have happened in the BCS-era.

I took this statement literally.
And really, the bowls care more about tickets than TV following anyway.

Yeah, this doesn't tell us anything
The Orange already said they love us too, and the orange bowl rep hugs everybody (see below). Also, Iowa getting to the BCS over us really wouldn’t change anything. Iowa is not a bad draw.
Also, if they’re going to change the system because they’re getting terrible ratings I’d fear for what concoction of crap they’d come up with. It’d most certainly be some devious scheme to increase ratings.

Other Angle
I really we wish we had a shot from the other angle to see the looks on the faces of what I am assuming are the Fiesta Bowl reps there in the matching green blazers with their backs to the camera.
Iowa isn't going to the Orange Bowl.
They’re either going to Fiesta or Cap One. We’re either going to the Orange or Cap One.
I’m 98% sure of this.

Anyway. Plenty of football still to go. Let’s not get too worked up over bowl scenarios just yet.

The Shogun is Wise
"For me the game wasn’t grounded in reality. It was about the uniform you put on that turned you into a warrior. It was about the mythology of the battle, the victory, the defeat, the struggle." - Mike Reid, PSU '69
Personally, I believe this shot was taken
right as the Orange Bowl rep stabbed Ferentz in the back, thus symbolizing the selection of PSU.
Ferentz was heard saying, “Et tu, Orange Bowl guy?”

Caption:
Orange guy: “Thank you so much for inventing hunting season, I am going to blast the hell out of some deer”
Ferentz: “I invented Stanziball, I am sorry but I had nothing to do with hunting”
Awkward silence.
