It's the Friday after Thanksgiving, which means most of you are still stuffed and/or hungover. It also means you've likely figured out that Commercialism Friday is much easier from home - deals and free shipping to be found online! (No, seriously - if you haven't seen some of the deals on Amazon, you need to go check them out.) Digressing, there's college football on today.
The Temple Owls have been led by a QB that just flies past defenses. Get it? HAHAHAHAH!
I have no idea what is actually on TV in your area, but here are the notable games on tap for today:
Rutgers @ Louisville at 11am (notable only because it's on my TV right now)
Temple @ Ohio at 11am (for the MAC East title)
Zookers @ Cinci at 12pm
Alabama @ Auburn at 2:30pm
Pitt @ WVU at 7pm
Nevada @ Boise St at 10pm
There's a slew of MAC and C-USA games on as well, so yeah. And then there's one of my flip-to favorites - Southern @ Grambling State on at 2pm. Consider this another open thread.

I will be going to that game in the 30 degree weather with snow. I love November football. I will be rooting for my Mountaineers regardless but beating Pitt always makes for a high note at the end of the season. Plus, well its Pitt, and I like to see them lose in person!

If they had lost to TAMU
then there was a real chance of that happening. If Texas loses to Nebraska, ‘Huskers gets the Fiesta Bowl bid as the Big XII champs, and Texas will still be eligible for a BCS At-Large bid. And I’m going to guess that the Orange would take Texas over Penn State.
At that point, the question is would the Fiesta take the Big Ten replacement, or would it fall to the Sugar Bowl? And at that point, who (PSU or Iowa) gets taken?

In the Nebraska beats Texas scenario, ebraska goes to the Fiesta and I would think the Orange takes a 12-1 Texas over a Big Ten team. But that would leave the Fiesta will the chance — which they will take — to choose Iowa or PSU versus Nebraska.

a) We won’t. PSU wants to play MSU to end the season. As do MSU and the Big Ten. We played Pitt four times after ‘93 and each game was in September. The Land Grant game is here to stay as is.
b) No. No, we wouldn’t. Penn State will not get rid of “gutless scheduling practices”. Neither will anyone else. Especially in this economy
c) Ok, this is a myth. It was not, at all, great college football. From Marino’s senior year to the present, Pitt has been usually terrible, with some mediocrity here and there (this year aside). Penn State lost to Pitt only 6 times under the Paterno era. It was not a great rivalry.

I'll admit
looking at those two false start penalties is why I’m kind of happy they’re moving the student section to the entire end zone. Best seats? Perhaps not, but I think the students will be a lot more effective directly behind (or straight ahead of) the opponent, as compared to coming from the corner.

I'm a new age Penn State fan, and I'm sure I'll be one for life.
And I can tell you, Pitt doesn’t even register on most students’ radar. It’s not hate, and it’s not love. In the grand scheme they are as important to us as Kansas State.
Winning the Big Ten and fighting off our own rivals will help our PA recruiting. I would rather see a long term rivalry with West Virginia because of the players we have in the neighboring states.
I say let them be, and give me more games against teams that will help our future.

Izzo said MSU wasn’t a top 5 team; they lost by 3 to Florida today. Next year is better for MSU, when their big men will be fully developed.

As I said before...
Spitt is irrelevent to PSU….wooo they are (were) ranked in the top 10 for the first time in 20 plus years….wooo…not anymore…the real pleasure I have is listening to the pathetically biased sports radio and newspaper reports this morning…they didn’t even sell out at WVU…pathetic…whenever I hear from Spitt fair-weathers about attendance, I counter with the fact that PSU will get 107,000 for Akron, while it will take 3 games for Pitt to get that #…I am having a good time this morning…come on Cincy !!
