Shyquawn Pullium, 3 star CB from Erie, PA
I don't have premium access but BWI is insinuating that Big Red went to this kids school and offered him. Info is out there that he has stated Penn State was his favorite even though he didn't have an offer. I would be happy to have this kid since he seems to really want to be a Penn Stater. But I'm curious, does this mean the staff knows for sure we are losing one of Coxson or Easley? Or could this be because of Bowman and/or Royster deciding to leave early?

Unless he's changing positions,
I don’t see how losing Coxson or Easley to committing elsewhere or Bowman and/or Royster to the draft affects our pursuit of this kid.
We are gonna shock them with 5,000 mega watts of raw ROO POWER.
His name affects our pursuit of this kid
Penn State has never, in its long history of storied football names, had a Shyquawn on its roster.
Kid’s a must-have for that reason alone.

I'm thinking the insinuation
is that we are at our scholarship limit and any action of those players mentioned would affect our scholarship availablity for Shy-Q.

Who knows
Could be a number of things. Royster deciding to go pro. Maybe some senior has decided he doesn’t want to come back for his fifth year. Maybe someone quit the team. Maybe they just decided they needed a cornerback and we’ll figure out how to make the numbers work later.
It’s all speculation. No sense in thinking the sky is falling just cuz McQ is showing late interest in a kid.

No
Easley and Coxon’s recruitment has no bearing on this. He was targeted as a possibility long before those two had second thoughts. Easley and Coxon are too good not to hold a ship for anyway.

let's hope
This doesn’t mean anything other than another kid getting a chance to play for Joe Paterno
They could just want him because even a 3* will get us ranked #1 on scouts (I think...)
And THAT might be enough to convince Coxson/Easley to stay or Lattimore to come.
"Every player we have, someone-maybe a parent, a grandparent, someone-poured their soul into that young man. They are handing that young man off to us. They are giving us their treasure, and it's our job to make sure we give them back that young man intact and ready to face the world."

Probably move us into 3 at most 2, but Texas is too far ahead, they just added another 5 star.

Kind of unusual, doesn't have a lot of quality offers...Pitt and Maryland are his best?
However, Scout has him listed as 4.31 in the 40 (just a little quicker than I was!). Maybe he is a “crackerjack” kick returner or something?
Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

Two things:
His late qualifying certainly will keep people from offering.
His 40 is BS because that Pitt combine was a sham. The equipment was broken and all they did was subtract .2 from each guys time. Only a handful of NFL players ran 4.3s at the combine. All accounts say he’s fast, just not that fast.

Bob Sanders?
My crazy idea is that we never let another player from Erie leave state again!
i live in erie
bob sanders is pretty much a freak accident, and he went to Cathedral Prep before they sort of fell off the map (somehow this happened after they won a state championship earlier this decade).
i also find it funny how much attention drew astorino gets. if you only read the Erie Times News and didn’t watch the games. you’d think drew would be up for Big Ten DPOTY.
We decide when you hear the snap count...
Didn't we have a few scholarships remaining anyway
even with Coxson and Easley, for like Lattimore, Floyd, etc?
Yes we did
with departures from the team, etc. we had plenty of room for all of them. Floyd is pretty much out, leaving us with plenty of room.
