How many Bowl games will the Big 10 win?

I could only pick three, Penn St., Iowa, and Minnesota.  The Rose Bowl looks like another train wreck.  Texas Tech's passing game vs. Sparty's pass defense looks like a 49-14 score waiting to happen.  Wisconsin and jNW games could be tossups, but nothing about either of those teams' body of work this year made me want to pick them. There's opportunity here for the Big 10 to restore it's reputation because no one is playing a great team, but they have to step it up.

Iowa and Penn State.

Actually I really honestly believe Ohio State is going to handle Oregon w/out much of a problem, but I just don’t see the conference getting two BCS wins. So I"ll error on the side of Iowa, since I’ll never give jaOSU the benefit of the doubt after the last 3 bowl games.

I think a good six out of 7 of those are tossups

I agree that I don’t see MSU hanging with TT with all those players out, but I think we can at least split the rest.

the oregon/jaOSU game will be a shootout

and jaOSU will not be able to hang in long enough. tressel will eventually have to make pryor throw the ball more than 5 yards downfield…and the arm punts will be ’a flyin.

i say we can get 5:

PSU
Iowa
NW (they’ll drop the ‘just’ that game)
Wiscy
Minny (this one is a toss up, whoever sucks less will win)

lose:

jaOSU
MSU (this game is gonna get ugly reaallll fast)

OSU shuts down Oregon

We beat LSU
Minny over ISU
and
Northwestern over Auburn

Northwestern vs Auburn is a tough one

I really think Northwestern is actually a better team (Auburn is mediocre at best), but Northwestern’s bowl history is terrible.

Minnesota over Iowa State? No. Absolutely no.

I know it seems silly for me to be arbitrary about this, but…

Those two teams are about equal (not necessarily talent-wise, mind you), but Paul Rhoads is both an actual coach and an actual human.

What’s Brewster? A mockingbird (lots of singing, no substance). At best.

Also, Ohio State’s defense isn’t great in space. Michigan probably could have been closer if Le Chat hadn’t sucked at passing.

i was wondering where you're sig came from

does putting the link there mean you were sick of people asking you where it was from?

funny

Perhaps Iowa’s biggest rival is Minnesota, and I know over at BHGP they do plenty of Brewster-mocking…

Nice argument, man

I don’t care about Minnesota, but yes, they do do plenty of Brewster-mocking at BHGP. He deserves it. He’s a horrible coach who only got hired because Minnesota is apparently vulnerable to motivational speakers. The man couldn’t outcoach Ron Zook.

I'm unsure about Ohio State

Wins:

Us.

Northwestern. I listened to Swindle on the BHGP podcast, and he thinks Auburn has a much better body of work. Eh. Is Tennesse better than Wisconsin? Or Iowa? Hasn’t Auburn beaten like one FBS team in the last 5 games? This’ll be a shootout, but frankly, I think Auburn’s defense is the lesser of the two. I’m not quite sure about this one and I wouldn’t be stunned if Auburn rolls, but I’m sticking with my hunch here.

Iowa. Yeah, yeah, I know. But does Georgia Tech even have a defense? Iowa can give Tech their own medicine with a ball control offense. Iowa’s run defense hasn’t been great this year and Tech will move the ball, but I can’t imagine GT’s defense doing enough. 27-24 or so.

Losses:

Minnesota. As detailed above.

Michigan State. Come on.

Wisconsin. They haven’t beaten anyone. They’ve really lost to every decent team they’ve played. Miami is faster and they’re better.

Miami is so much faster

My God, is their offensive line fast. Ridiculous.
