Penn State defensive tackle Jared Odrick, a graduate of Lebanon High School, stoked his already good chances to become a high draft pick by being named to the American Football Coaches Association All-America team. Odrick, 6-foot-5, 305, had six sacks and 41 tackles from his defensive tackle position.

Other defensive linemen named were Ndamukong Suh of Nebraska, Jerry Hughes of TCU, Derrick Morgan of Georgia Tech and Brian Price of UCLA.

Odrick had little company from the Big Ten as only Michigan State linebacker Greg Jones made the first team with Odrick.

Oh man

Who spilled these worms all over the table? And how are we going to get them back in the can?

Uh-oh

Adam Rittenberg is gonna be PISSED!

Congrats to Odrick though, he was such a beast and gave every DC on our schedule nightmares before and after each game. He produced a lot of great memories this season and represented Penn State very well.

I wonder

Will The Only Colors and Rittenberg berate this honor for Odrick as well?

Whoa

Eric Berry’s only 5’11", 195? Are there any Jimmy Johnson’s left in the NFL who would draft him over Taylor Mays? (’Zach’s better. He’ll start’) I love those little dudes who bring the wood.

Gotta give a little love to Big Ten players:

Berry: 83 total tackles (54 solo), 1 forced fumble, 2 interceptions.

Tyler Sash: 84 total tackles (40 solo), 2 forced fumbles, 6 interceptions

I’ll give credit to Berry for carrying that defense, I guess.

I'm just going to go ahead and assume this is because of preseason hype for Berry

It's so studly to be a sophomore All American

And I’ve actually seen both Earl Thomas and Mark Ingram play. Pretty studly dudes, both.

Doesn’t Pat Angry at Iowa have better stats than Greg Jones?

The stat advantage, that is

I have no judgment on who’s better.

by PSUisMyHeart on Dec 3, 2009 5:22 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, that's way more definitive

than the 6tackle gap. But what about Names? Can Jones even hang?

Sooooo glad

That the most over-rated player by the media, Terrance Cody, did not make this team. Just because he is fat and a good player does not mean he’s an All-American CBS and ESPN.

Terrence Cody will be severely disappointed

when he finds out that the Sugar Bowl is a football game a not indeed an entire bowl of sugar as its name indicates.
