[Weis referring to Pete Carroll] "Was I living with a grad student in Malibu, or was I living with my wife in my house? You could bet that if I were living with a grad student here in South Bend, it would be national news. He's doing it in Malibu and it's not national news. What's the difference? I don't understand. Why is it OK for one guy to do things like that, but for me, I'm scrutinized when I swear. I'm sorry for swearing; absolve my sins."

He has subsequently back peddaled and apologized to Petey.

Of course the damage is possibly done
Pete’s probably going to have paparazzi all over him until they dig up some sort of dirt, which may or may not be a good thing.
But btw
Weis is a huge doucheabag for stooping this low (assuming it isn’t actually true, otherwise Pete is an even bigger scumbag than we all thought). As much as I would have taken pleasure in him coming back and EPIC FAILing for another year, I’m glad he’s gone, he’s a scumbag, and I won’t miss seeing his fat ass on the ESPN recaps.
i assume
It is true and that’s why Weis acted the way he did. Weis isn’t an idiot, he knows saying stuff like that if its untrue is libel and could land him in court. Instead he said it, backpedalled, and now he’s undermined Carroll’s personal life in a way that could really hurt him.
I would expect there to be some TMZ stuff digging into Carroll and if there’s a shred of truth to it, we should know soon. Ironically the first Google auto-completion that comes up for “Pete Carroll” now is “Pete Carroll grad student”. HA!

He is a douche....
You never out somebody for this type of thing… If he is cheating (ha) or something, yeah, you point the finger.
But Phil Michelson or Ernie Els didn’t out Tiger…and you know those guys knew what was going on! That stuff is personal, and while wrong morally and ethically, it ain’t illegal. Stuff like that will come out on it’s own in TMZ or the Enquirer.. It’s just a matter of time.

Would it come out in the tabloids?
The guy is a college football coach, even if he is the “hip” coach who will totally land you a job in the NFL if you agree to play for him, he’s not a starlet or pro athlete. In the sports world, yes that would be big news, but compared to a Tiger Woods, I just don’t see the media draw of a Pete Carroll cheating scandal.
Oh....
I think Pete’s big enough to get some ink and circulation. especially in the West Coast editions.
However, it might be like the guy who survived the Johnstown flood. He agreed to be to make a presentation to an international panel on natural disasters. Then he found out he was on the program in the time slot following Noah!

Somebody has to...
Live in the house formerly occupied by Reggie Bush and family, I mean it would be a waste to just let it sit empty until the next superstar needs a place to stay, right?
