Lane and UT possibly in trouble again
This guy is incredible! Apparently UT has been matching up their recruits with "hostesses" who sometimes travel to see the players' high school football games. One such trip included Byrnes HS which is the home of Lattimore. Lattimore acknowledges that while he's not going to UT, the influence of the hostesses played a role in 2 of his teammates giving commitments to UT. Unreal! If this is true, which is seems to be, I hope the NCAA throws the book at this guy. UT has to know that this guy was a bad move and for once Al Davis might have known what he was talking about when he cut Kiffy go!

I am not sure of what aristocracy you speak of here.
Jackson was and always will be remembered by historians as a champion of the common man. If it wasn’t for his rise in national politics the Adams’ and Calhouns’ of the world would have ruled the U.S. for many years.
Also his ability to stave off the Nulification Crisis alone is noteworthy.

Also we tend to judge people through the lenses of our own time.
Jackson’s Indian Removal Act, was actually supported by a vast majority of Americans. There was a vocal opposition but given the context of the times the guy was only moving about in the support of his people.
I might sound calloused here, but the whole “ripping” off the Native Americans bit is a bit absurd. The western European societies simply did what people after people after people did before them.
No one gives the Jews crap for taking Canaan by force twice? No one gives the Roman empire crap for what it did? What about the fighting for territory between indigenous peoples in the pre-Colombian era of the Americas? I think we have all listened to Neil Young a little to much, war WAS known by the folks. But we will belittle the colonists, and our forefathers for their role in Manifest Destiny, because it is politically correct to do so today.

Or, as a modern philosopher once remarked:
“Everyone does …. kills people, murder people, steals from you, steals from me, whatever.”
Jackson was corrupt as hell
History isn’t always right, you know. Jackson replaced whatever aristocracy there was before with another “good old boys” type system and, worst of all, the spoils system.

Ok really?
According to the statement, Orange Pride is one of three student ambassador programs that serve the university. In a photo of the group in the 2009 Tennessee football media guide, Earps is listed as a captain. Orange Pride has 75 members, both male and female, who host recruits on their official visits. During sweeping recruiting reforms enacted in 2004, the NCAA banned female-only hostess groups.
Why would they need three different student “ambassador” programs?
Also, just because there are some males in a group doesn’t mean it isn’t going to go all Colorado on us.
