Controversial?, but may be fun...A11 Offense
This is my first fanpost. Hope this works.
Since this is a slowwww time for football (Post LOI), I came across this article:
http://highschool.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=911196
More info can be found at:
Now imagine this somehow being implemented in CFB. Of course, if it works and is allowed, we would first see it in the Big12. Then, perhaps, the ESSSS EEEE SEEEE, who would modify it ,then claim they invented it because of their speed.
Thanks for the fanpost! Please do not post any content from a premium site that requires a subscription. Also, if you just want to share a link consider using fanshots instead. Thanks.

I recall this coming up a few months ago
I didn’t re-read the rules on those sites, but I recall that NCAA football has rules that prohibit the formations used in the a11 offense

I still remember seeing some version of this formation though
I can’t remember who, but it was this season, and the formation did resemble this:
I mean, I’ve seen much stranger formations that this before. Like when that SEC sent the center to hike the ball toward the sidelines after a timeout where the players are acting like they’re still in a huddle during the timeout… If that’s legal this should be.
Either way Joe laughs at your silly girlie offense, where’s the damn fullback?!

Jon Gruden
would love this offense. He could keep 40 QBs on his roster and play 2

Illegal
The A-11 is illegal in college football. The offense only exists on the scrimmage kick exception that allows non-lineman numbers on the line on a punt. In the NCAA you may only utilize this rule exception in an obvious kicking situation.
The body governing high school football is also looking in to accepting NCAA rules, so the A-11 will likely be a dead offense soon.

yeah, that was the rule I recalled
that it needed to be an obvious kicking situation, but I couldn’t recall the specifics (and was too lazy to look it up)

Actually
It pretty much is dead in college football – there isn’t one body governing high school football, but several. In most of them it already isn’t legal.
Some of them use restrictions more like the NFL, which doesn’t have such a blanket allowance on eligible numbers on the line in any situation.

Controversial?
Not as controversial as Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
Austen fans are in for a shock, with heroine Elizabeth Bennet and her four sisters becoming zombie slayers and taught how to fight like Japanese ninjas by Mr Darcy.
