Let's just hope they find a way to secure the glasses on this one, lest they go missing.

Any list of a “Mount Rushmore of Sports” for Pennsylvania has to include Mario Andretti.

Maybe not the list,
but definitely the discussion.
Personally, I wonder what part of Wilt Chamberlain they would put on the mountain?

It seems like...
they purposely chose an individual from each of the four major sports, which is interesting. The again, maybe not… maybe it just turned out that way. Anyway, here’s my humble opinion… I’m sure we all have one…
Joe Paterno
Mike Schmidt (548 career home runs, 10 gold gloves, National League MVP three times, All-Star 12 times, received more votes than any other third basemen in 1999’s Major League Baseball All-Century Team, won 1980 World Series, inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame)
Wilt Chamberlain
Arnold Palmer
Schmidt replaces Clemente, who was a great player, no doubt, but not better than the best third baseman of all time (IMHO). Palmer replaces Lemieux… tough call here between fourth and fifth place… Joe Frazier and Mario Andretti should be in the discussion as well. All four are worthy… not to mention a few others.
Ooooh
I forgot that Frazier was from Philly.

Rocky
Isn’t it depressing that fictional character made the list? Why not just throw in Captain America and Superman while you’re at it? WTF?

Who says Captain America is a fictional character?

Palmer
Kinda sad that Arnold Palmer ended up outside the final four faces. I mean, the man is a drink mogul…
Joe Paterno
Art Rooney
Mario Andretti

Now now...
Zug’s renowned humility would prevent him from putting his own face on the mountainside as he carves the solid rock with the laser beams from his eyes.

I see two distinct groups here...
one is the sons (or daughters) of Pennsylvania. Born here but their major accomplishments done elsewhere. Born elsewere, professional success in PA.
