Purdue

They’re turning to crap quickly. Its starting to look like thats the best chance we’re going to have to win on the road outside of Iowa the rest of the way.

Lower Back Stress Fracture

I believe that’s what it is. He says he is day-to-day for the remainder of the season. If his back feels okay on game-day, he will try to gut it out.

Nice crowd at the game. No numbers announced yet.

Brooks

He needs to do more of that against the smaller 3’s. Stop shooting jumpers.

Is it just me

And spoil the rhythum of the game?

Keep it in perspective

and while we are looking at the box scores

0-6 from behind the arc and zero offensive rebounds isn’t going to get it done.

What is with

I swear at least twice a game Morrisey flops and gets no call. Stop flopping and play defense. If his shots aren’t falling, which has been basically all season save a few games, he is worthless. I want to see what Babb can do because he has to at least be able to play better than Morrisey.

Crummy half

Couldn’t buy a basket the last ten minutes. We were leading 20-16. Now it’s 28-21.

Brooks needs to stop throwing up three point shots with 30 seconds still on the clock.

Where did our offense go, we just aren't looking good.

We just needed a couple players, a couple people to buy in to the fact and we were able to do it. --A.Q. Shipley

I now see why Pringle went off last game

Wisconsin’s other guard (Bohanon I think) is a horrible on the ball defender

But also displaying terrible footwork offensively and defensively. Anyone can grab boards if you are a seven-footer and the ball comes to you.

0-11 from behind the arc is no time to start throwing up miracle threes.

I take full responsibility for this

This is my fault, they were winning games like crazy, and I wasn’t watching them. The first game I watched was Michigan, now this one. So I think I’m not going to watch anymore.

by dawsonPSU10 on Feb 8, 2009 4:59 PM EST reply actions

Well the run was nice while it lasted

Hopefully they’ll at least have a good run in the NIT, which is more than we can usually ask for

by The JuggerNitt on Feb 8, 2009 5:07 PM EST reply actions

YIKES

2 games in a row talor battle had more airballs than hitting the rim/net. i guess he blew his load against MSU and now he’s shootin blanks

not doomsday

These were expected losses a while ago, and this team is far fmo out of it. With the Pac-10 and SEC being weak along with the Big East looking like it will only get 8 bids we are still in good shape if we finish respectfully down the stretch. Also don’t forget this is one of the worst years for mid-majors in a long time.

What is disappointing is how some people can jump off a bandwagon after two losses. Obviously we are not a basketball school so I expect some of this, but this is a different sport. Sometimes bad games happen in bunches, and you just have to hope Battle will break out of this mini-funk. It happens in basketball.

by STU Boy on Feb 8, 2009 5:13 PM EST reply actions

Hope so

But the reality is this team has very few quality wins and a terrible strength of schedule. They basically have no room for error if they want to go to the big dance. This was a game they should have won. They’ve got an opportunity @ Purdue to make up for this in a big way.

Of course, I’m the guy who posted NIT. But I’m also willing to step back from my emotions of this game and move on. Still on the wagon!

Bandwagon

I myself am not really on the bandwagon. More like being dragged behind it, frantically trying to decide whether to cut myself free or not.

by ReadingRambler on Feb 8, 2009 6:09 PM EST up reply actions

I agree

Far from out of it. But we do need battle to play better and need cornley to get more shots. battle needs to learn if he’s off not to just keep shooting and driving to the hoop.
also big ed needs to coach. do we even run set plays? how bout a set screen for danny boy? at least twice a game. what else is he on the team for other than to shoot 3’s.

Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.

by wookieeman on Feb 8, 2009 5:24 PM EST reply actions

I don't know if you guys see a trend

But teams that slow it down (Iowa, Minn, Mich the second game, and Wisconsin) are far more effective against us. It’s simple, they feel like their set plays and offense is better than ours, so if we have roughly the same amount of possessions they will have a greater chance of victory. It’s quite disheartening that we have no offensive sets.

Also, when you are down by 8 with 4 minutes left that means you have to ditch the zone and force tempo and turnovers. I guess we missed that in coaching 101.

by STU Boy on Feb 8, 2009 5:28 PM EST up reply actions

unbelieveable

All the talk about the “big three” and leadership…. These are the games they need to show up. If they don’t “show-up” in these games, they won’t need to worry about showing up in the post season. 17 wins may not even be good enough for the NIT. Largest crowd…. “crawl game”, big disappointment. I’d like to hear some fan comments from those who went to the game

by sbcalion on Feb 8, 2009 5:26 PM EST reply actions

Badgers

Gotta expect a crawl game against wiscy…that’s their style of play. ed would like to run but with only 2 guards that actually play its hard to play that style without gassing them… heck battle plays 38 min as it is.
