I'm not a basketball guy -- but watching that game I was stunned by how many 3-point attempts both teams were taking. It was just really strange to me, especially for PSU who only hit 25% of their 3-point attempts.
In my humble opinion, we lost that game due to the ill-advised 3-point attempts. 8 missed 3-point attempts in the 1st overtime. Battle had the game winning shot in his hands at the end of the 2nd half and he wasted it on a 3-point attempt with 2 seconds left on the clock...
Was this the game plan, or did our kids just get carried away? Or is this normal and I'm just not familiar enough with the sport?
