In this time of a down economy, I feel it is best that we help our Big Ten brethren out. I suggest we donate the eyesore epitome of craftsmanship known as the Land Grant Trophy to this cause. If they feel it best to change the name, I'm sure we're all okay with that - in fact, I think the name plates are just velcro'ed on, so that will make it easier for them.

And if they want to call it the "Land of Lincoln" Trophy
Well, I’m all for it. Because we’ll finally have the “Beard of Lincoln” Trophy -a trophy worth fighting for!

What is the bigger problem...
the tomahawk or Sioux? A tomahawk is just a weapon, but many Native American tribes feel that Sioux is a slur. I say remove the offensive Sioux from the title and keep the sweet tomahawk trophy.

Isanti (“Knife,” originating from the name of a lake in present-day Minnesota): residing in the extreme east of the Dakotas, Minnesota, and northern Iowa, and are often referred to as the Santee or Eastern Dakota.
I don’t think they’d accept Sweet Santee Tomahawk either. The argument probably being that it demeans the tribe to have their name placed on a football trophy.
