I am truly sorry
As you probably all know, I made a pretty good fool of myself yesterday. I said something that was crude, irresponsible, and flat out wrong. I made a joke at the expense of a great man who passed away, and not one that was funny or at all tasteful. From the moment I posted that, I regretted it, and wished I could take it back. Even before the floodgates opened, I hated the fact that I had written such hateful words.
I made a mistake. I had that momentary lapse of judgement that we all share from time to time. I'm not asking for your forgiveness, because those words will be there forever, and the sting of them can only be assuaged with time. I know that I can be a better contributor to BSD, and a better member of the Penn State community than I have presented myself as.
I can only hope that this will serve as a peace offering. I will continue to take in the heaps of abuse with which I have been presented, because my actions deserved such retribution. What I pray is that I can redeem myself, at least in your eyes. I'd like to think that I can play a bigger part in this BSD community, the blogosphere, and the Penn State fanbase than being the guy who made a mistake.
This isn't about Mets and Phillies. This is about a man who died. My heart goes out to Mr. Kalas's friends, family, and all those who he touched. I can only hope that this post proves my absolute sorrow for the unfortunate situation.

I didn't see what you wrote,
but I do know we all make mistakes. It happens.
If you can save the ‘hate’ for when we need it, you should be fine.

Hey, we all make mistakes
Just a couple tips for dealing with the interwebs…
Remember your audience. If you want to be taken seriously, act like it. When you write something, review and revise it and let it sit for a while before you send it. Reread it later and then fire it off. Sometimes what we write might sound funny or witty to us, while it is offensive to others…this is one of those cases where a little thought might have prevented your regret.
Great advice. The Preview button is your friend.
use it, read it like someone who does not know you.
Apology accepted as far as I'm concerned
If I didn’t forgive then how could I expect the Good Lord to forgive me when my day comes? I’ve got a lot of things that need forgiving, believe me!
Didn't see it
But like someone said before, the preview is great.
Also, we all make those mistakes. It’s funny in our mind, but then comes across terribly once written.
Reminds me of that xkcd comic where he made a program that read him back his comments on Youtube… basically making a point that most comments on Youtube are complete garbage. Pretty funny.
Takes a pretty big person to make this kind of apology
Good job. I’ve stuck my foot in my mouth (up to my knee) way too many times. Good luck with the Mets.
