College Football an Olympic Sport? YES!
I was looking for some info on when college football played exhibition games in preseason back in the day and found this link

Apparantly college football was an olympic sport in 1904!
Also found some info about when the college all-stars got to play the world champs.

And a real interesting read (from a Penn State grad) about how some schools count games in their history and others dont.

Still looking for some info on the exhibition games. I know JoePa eluded to them once in a Presser about how we used to go down to Carlise or something and have a little scrimmage. Maybe in the 50's?

Hasn't ND played a regular season game in Ireland?
I know it’s not a pre-season exhibition per se, but I think it’s pretty close. It was back in the ’70s I think.
Also, the 1904 Olympics featured tug-o-war as a medal event. That should be reintroduced. It would make for great TV and every nation on Earth could have a team.
After reading up on the 2012 matchup
Looks like ND-Navy played in Dublin in 1996. Pretty cool.
1932 Olympics
Football was also a demonstration sport in the Los Angeles Olympics
