Sanderson Hire produces quick results
Two of the biggest names in Pennsylvania's primo wrestling class of 2010 have committed to Cael the Animal Penn State within days of his hiring. The Alton twins provide a double shot of ass kick, and appear to be actively recruiting some of the other studs in Pa.'s stable.
While I expected Cael to grab some of the ridiculous Pa. talent for Penn State, I didn't expect to see it happen nearly instantaneously.
Penn State's recruiting has just shifted into warp speed, and I'm sure Sanderson will keep the throttle wide open. This is why he took the PSU job - he loves Pa. high school wrestling.
To serious wrestling fans, this is tremendous news.

“Sanderson Hire produces quick results”
Another result; to pay for his salary, Penn State’s 2016 football OOC schedule has been released:
Southeastern Tennessee A&T
Memphis Naval Air Station
Lincoln Tech
Temple

That's disappointing.
I was hoping for the U. of (Old) Mexico. Surely they’ve improved since the Samford loss.

What’s really surprising is that only one of those teams played Bowden’s Samford teams.

Awesome!
Wow, it’s soo cool to be able to expect seeing more and more of these. One of those twins has 90 falls in 130some wins? Ridiculous. That’s quite a killer instinct.
Thanks for the link.

Holy Cow...
“…Andrew and Dylan, both of whom captured PIAA Class AAA titles last month, ended this past season as the nation’s top-ranked 140-and 145-pounders, according to Amateur Wrestling News. Andrew and Dylan are projected to wrestle anywhere from 141 to 157 in college. Dylan currently weighs two pounds more than Andrew.
The Altons were the most heavily-recruited wrestlers in Central Mountain’s 10-year history. The twins selected Penn State over Nebraska, Michigan, Oklahoma State, Iowa and Iowa State. …"

wow, I have 50 lbs on these guys
and I’m sure they could kick my ass.
I was at a party once and was less than sober. Somehow I agreed to wrestle some guy who was a couple inches shorter than me, but about the same weight. I don’t think I lasted more than half a second before he had me pinned. Turns out he was state champ in HS a few years prior, opposed to me, with absolutely zero wrestling skills.

SUMO!
For the Illinois game last year, one of my old roommates rented sumo suits and mats for our 2-day tailgate. We sumoed each other (if anyone takes that quote out of context, I’ll be…well, not surprised), hot college girls, and drunk dudes. Obviously, the occasional girl-on-girl matchup was the best (and the most competetive – girls hate losing to other girls). But this begs the obvious question:
BSD wrestling tournament this year???? Rambler comes in at 8-1 odds, JuggerNitt at 7-2, TailgateShogun around 2-3. Winner gets a weekend in fabulous Houston (or at least a few hours until Mike kicks you out of the grotto).
Blame Iowa!

Damn Straight
Motherphuquers! I’m carrying a huge chip after my awesome undefeating senior year, dude. But TME’s healin up that shoulder out on the beach, and I’ve seen how he destroys beers, so he’d probably take us all. And don’t let Pete the Streak full yas with that oldhead noise—dude’s wily! Sweep the leg’s got a nice wrestlin screen name, but RUTS & TS make him sound like a p*ssy.
Afroman could write us a jingle about the tourney….
jeffroman is wrestlin BSD-ya
if you don’t know how to get pinned, I’ll teach ya
rollin all the way to a superphat, 0-12 re-cord
jtothep really was a legend, haven’t ya heard

I love this pic

Wrestlers have a distinctive look. And these dudes have it in spades.

The one on the left
Dylan, is 131-5 with two state championships and 70 falls.
The one on the right, Andrew, is 133-8, with one state championship. I wonder how many of his 90 falls are representative of a small chip on the shoulder about those extra losses and a state championship?

Wrestling Recruiting
You know, I’ve never really considered wrestling recruiting before. Wonder what it’s like to try to recruit to fill 10 weight classes for dudes with four years? I really wonder what it would be like to have your name be Cael Sanderson and try to do it. How fun will it be for him to go to HS States every year to go shopping for holes in the weight class lineup?
In any case, it will be nice to be competitive with Iowa and bhgp again.

Pa. HS wrestling
hosts a tremendous All-Star match each March called the Dapper Dan Classic. It pits Pa.’s top seniors against the best of the rest of the 49 states – Pa. vs. the USA.
It’s very tough for one state to compete against the rest of the country, let alone knock them off. Pa. had lost 9 straight until this year. The Alton twins weren’t eligible as they’re juniors, as are Peppelman, Kindig, Craig, Giorgio, Cowburn, etal. Pa. still dumped the USA in a bit of an upset; it was figured next year was the year for Pa.
Check the stats for the USA team at the link. Yes – very impressive. Yet they still came here and got dusted by our guys.

Very sweet. Next March, we’ll hopefully be watching a bunch of future Lions trashing the USA in a preview of upcoming NCAA championships.
Again – this is what Sanderson wanted access to when he ditched ISU. I don’t blame him.

OK......
How’s this: “Trashing the best of the other 49 states in one-on-one mat action”?
God Bless the USA. And J. Leman.
