Undrafted PSU signings
So I was searching the web for any news on Undrafted FA signings and I came across the following PSU guys:
Jordan Norwood - Cleveland Browns
Maurice Evans - New York Giants
Mark Rubin - St. Louis Rams
Gerald Cadogan - Carolina Panthers
Josh Gaines - Philadelphia Eagles
Dan Lawlor - Washington Redskins
Anthony Scirrotto - Carolina Panthers
Tony Davis - Arizona Cardinals
Lydell Sargeant - Buffalo Bills
Tyrell Sales - Indianapolis Colts
I would not be surprised to see any of our other guys(Davis, Scirrotto, Kelly, Sales, Lawlor, Gaines) get shots in the next days. I mean, BranDon Snow got a tryout so these guys should be alright.
I found the list on a NE Patriot draft site, so take it for what its worth, I didn't feel like researching beyond a google search. I'll try to look again in a few days and add whoever else gets signed or given a camp invite.
Thanks for the fanpost! Please do not post any content from a premium site that requires a subscription. Also, if you just want to share a link consider using fanshots instead. Thanks.

I almost went to that
but didn’t since I thought it’d be mobbed with people. Sounds like I was wrong and missed out.

definitely did.
we had to ask where they were b/c there were no signs, nothing pointing them out. which ended up being good for us.
btw, both are very nice looking boys!!!

I'm a little surprised
no one took Cadogan. I thought he was at least as important to the line as Shipley was last year.

Not to mention
the fact that he’s a beast. You can’t teach size, and I thought at least one team would hop on the opportunity to draft Cadogan… He at least should’ve been Mr. Irrelevant.

What happened to Kevin Kelly?
I know he’s tiny, but he didn’t even want to attempt to get drafted after an awesome and record setting career?

*I didn't see his name listed on ESPN
for whatever that’s worth. But also never heard his name mentioned in the Collegian as one of the seniors going into the draft.

Utterly shocked that Cadogan didn't get drafted.
Smart, high-character guy that can really play. I think he’ll do quite well in Carolina. I’m a little surprised that Rich O. went so high, but happy for him. Happy for Butler, too. He really made himself some money with that blazing 40 at the combine.
Derrick Williams should really have a chance to do something good in Detroit — the team seems to be in competent hands now. One weird name on their draft sheet that stood out to me was Murtha from Nebraska. Saw him at the combine and he moves like a wide receiver.

One cool thing,
is that I expect to see D Wheels get some time right out of the gate his rookie year. Maybe just as a return specialist, but there is definitely room for him to make an impact on this team.
It’s so hard to have a favorite NFL team when you’re such a big PSU fan… Even though I hate the Patriots and Tom Brady, I’m going to actually pay attention to them and hope Ohrnberger defends our former sworn enemy.
However, it must be pretty neat, for a large number of people, to see A.Q. go to his hometown team the Stillers. It’d be fairly interesting to find out exactly how excited, or not, he and his family were when they found out the good news.

a little love for Evans
From the Giants Insider
Moments after the Draft ended the Giants were busy burning up the phone lines in an attempt to fill out their roster.
Along the way, they might just have uncovered at least one hidden gem: Penn State’s Maurice Evans. The athletic and aggressive defensive end would have obviously been better served by returning to Happy Valley for his senior season after a disappointing junior campaign, both on and off the field.
However, Evans gives the Giants defensive coaching staff plenty with which to work
by letsgopsu on Apr 27, 2009 5:36 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Eh
The Giants have a moose of a defensive line so I think that his uphill battle will only continue. As a Penn State fan, I would like to see him make the squad, but then again as an Eagles fan, having him not make the team would selfishly work out as well.
by Bob Sacamano on Apr 28, 2009 8:45 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Can someone give me some info on Evans?
Out of our UDFA signings, he looked the most promising. I heard he had some decision making issues or something, but that he’s a player. Anything we should know over at BBV? I always like seeing undrafted guys make the team.

Depends on
which Mo Evans shows up. He had an amazing Sophomore year – good (not great) speed, good strength, havoc everywhere. Junior year, he gets caught with weed and is suspended for a few games. The more concerning thing is that, once he was back on the field, he didn’t seem like his sophomore self. At all. He lacked energy and drive to make the plays and impact he had made the previous year.
If the GMen can get his mind back on straight, he’s a great prospect. But a lot of this will rest on Evans and which player he wants to be.

based on.....?
Don’t get me wrong, I hate to criticize individual players on their skill (they’re freaking college kids making no money – they don’t deserve that). So as a group, I saw nothing good in the BW game to give me any confidence in this year’s secondary. I don’t expect them to be even as good as last year.
Here’s hoping you’re right – there are a thousand and one possible explanations (coverages were simple, all the receivers already had solid game experience, McGloin really is that good, no blitzes allowed, Zug blinded them, etc.). So I’ll treat this secondary as I do any uncertain situation: no expectations, lots of hope. But if you have some solid reason for your blind confidence, I’ll latch onto it.

Our scheme....
Hurt just as much as our talent level. Have to mix the cover 3 up with some man and cover 2 otherwise the torching will continue when we play talented offenses. Don’t expect that to happen anytime soon with TB at the reigns of the D!
I thought only safeties played 15 yards off the ball?
by pic15 on Apr 28, 2009 11:14 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I agree 100%
Scirrotto could hit hard has anyone, and we weren’t severely lacking speed or skill. Not that we were mind blowing, but very solid. The scheme we run works when our line is tearing shit up, we need to learn to adjust that. I certainly do not blame it all on the kids, I mean they are good enough to get a shot in the nfl so that should say something.

that was a good laugh before bed
Anthony Morelli did not have the luxury of stepping into the starting role behind a veteran offensive line, as Levi Brown was the only returning starter up front and at tight end entering the 2006 season. Injuries also forced four lineup changes within the O-Line during the year, limiting the unit’s critical continuity, as the Lions faced three teams ranked in the Top 15 nationally in total and scoring defense in Big Ten play. Anthony Morelli, though, remained positive and confident, improving and growing as a leader in guiding Penn State to nine wins, including five in its last six games, and a New Year’s Day bowl victory
