Basketball to play Virginia Tech?

Jones column

David Jones is reporting that PSU and Virginia Tech are negotiating a home/home series in hoops, with PSU hosting the Hokies in 2009-10.  He also mentions that the suspected away game at Temple (after PSU hosting them in 2008-9) is happening.  So, right now for the 2009-10 schedule we seem to have:

Virginia Tech

at Temple

at Virginia

Charleston Classic (3 games)

We've also apparently been talking to Siena to have them play at the BJC.

Two dependable sources tell me that Virginia Tech and Penn State are talking about a possible home-and-home deal which would begin with the Lions hosting the Hokies in the coming season and PSU returning the favor in the 2010-11 season. Nothing has been finalized.

On the board of trustees, I presume.

VT

While PSU recently played them it would be stupid for anyone to complain. Just the fact that they are trying to schedule decent competition is enough for me right now.

especially if we get siena

If we get LaSalle, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Virginia, and Temple, everything is gravy in my book.

It's very nice to see...

the basketball program making an effort to better the schedule and give us some national credibility.
Many people may think this is because of us missing out on the other tourney on account of our strength of schedule (or lack thereof) this past year, but I like to think Tim Curley is secretly a member of BSD.

They should schedule a football home and home while they are at it

I live in Northern Virginia and work with all VT fans. I would love to have them on the schedule.
