Wallace to offense?
Who is going to stretch the field this year on offense? Can we count on Powell/Price to do it? I believe master zug and brackett can be effective at moving the chains and in the red zone, but I'm not sure either of them will push back the safeties.
Does it make sense to consider moving AJ wallace back to offense - especially if it's clear that he's not going to cut it on defense? The guy has had four years to learn the position, and he's not that big. He seemed to me to be more explosive than powell, who seems more fast/smooth.

There is simply no one else at corner. I wouldn’t sell him short at CB just yet anyway, it’s still early spring. Price is probably too small to make an impact but I think that Powell could stretch the field. Plus PSU has Brown and Kersey coming in who could do something. I think we’re going to see more jumbo sets next year rather than 4 or 5 wide.
Kath?
In addition. . .
I think that two tight end sets will be used a lot more often. Pass blocking is a lot harder for young offensive lines to learn and become a cohesive unit while performing. They will need that extra tight end in order to chip the defensive end / help in pass protection.
Royster should get the ball a hell of a lot more also. He has shown that when there are holes (or sometimes arent) he can rip off big chunks of yardage against even very experienced defensive fronts. I think that the offensive coaching staff should make this guy the focal point. Clark is the leader and the offense’s success depends upon him; however, Royster will need to be the player that the opponent looks to and says “we cannot let him beat us.”
I would...
ahhh, “enjoy” Rolls getting the ball more (~22) touches/per – but I don’t believe the “beauty” of the HD can work effectively if one person were to touch the ball that often…I could be wrong…just sayin’…

Deplete our secondary
I dont think we can afford to weaken the secondary anymore than graduation already has.
Also BWLife is right the Spread HD is all about creating wholes by spacing the field and generic looks that are hard for the defense to read. Switching to a bunch of elephant packages doesn’t exactly accomplish this. I find it hard to believe that the coaches would install a brand new offense for just one year, it’s not like our offense was hit by early departures. They have a plan for this year and they’ve had it since last March when they were deciding on installing the new offense.
I do agree that Royster will see more of the ball, just not 30 times for 120 yards and 30 clouds of dust.

If the passing defense is going to be as bad as everyone says it will, why not run a 5-5-1?

I agree that you need bodies in the secondary, but if most of these bodies weren’t good enough to see the field last year (save hodges) then we will be counting more on our offense to score than one more average CB to make some plays.
I understand there’s a tradeoff, but were can he make the biggest impact?

I don't think it'll happen.
He really appeared to lose interest in it last year and eventually lost the job.
I’m guessing you’ll see Powell and Green back there. Maybe even Devon Smith if we’re lucky.

Green
Was born to return kicks, I think he’ll prove to be better at it than DWill.

thats some big shoes to fill there
but i absolutely agree with your assessment and am downright giddy to see it (as long as he holds onto the ball). I think kick returns, along with int returns, are some of the most fun moments of a football game.

Amen to holding on...
If he could hold on to a ball, we would have had a shot at USC (we woulda been in scoring range with 45 seconds in the first half…).
I’m just not sure I trust Green with the ball more than 5-10 touches a game, and returns bump that number up a lot, either by kicks or punts… I’d prefer D-Smith or Powell.
