Minnesota set to play a home annd home with Texas
Seriously? You are telling me we can't set something like this up? Our stadium is double the size of Minny's new digs.

Why would you want to play Minnesota more often?

The fact that our stadium is double the size of Minny's
is actually more of a reason for us NOT to do something like this, because it would be a bigger hit in revenue for us to do so. Also, I’m not sure of Minny’s attendance normally, but they might need a headliner like Texas to sell out their stadium, while PSU sells out even for the Coastal Carolina game (and was practically selling out during the dark years)
You don’t do it to sell out the stadium – you think tOSU needs USC or Texas to sell out the shoe? You do it so at the end of the year people aren’t saying “Well they didn’t paly anybody, leave them out”
tOSU plays the same type of schedule as we do
1 National (occasionally powerhouse) school
1 MAC school
1 other mediocre school (usually relatively local)
1 Div 1-AA school
so not sure what you’re getting at with that comparison.

I sometimes love Ohio State's schedule
You know, like when schedule Akron, Youngstown State, and Cincy. It’s like Tressel wants to remind them who the best team in Ohio is.

The reason we can’t get them is because Texas knows its really not that good… The toughest venue they play in is half way between their school and OU. Next would be TA&M, which they most likely have a large following at.
They know at Penn State they: (1) will never play in a place with that kind of fan support in order to prepare; and (2) will be playing a team with a real, live defense, instead of 11 fatheads.
Texas beat us at Beaver Stadium in 1989
We beat them in Austin 1990.
We’ve also played USC seven times since 1990. Which I bet is more than any other Big Ten Team.

USC too?
Good job Minnesota. It’s all good though, we’ve got Virginia AND Rutgers down the road. Powerhouses!
Hey, you know, maybe USC and Texas scheduled Minny because they appear weak? Maybe Texas is afraid to play us?
We’re playing Bama next year…

I am sure that is exactly why Texas and USC scheduled Minne
They look at it as very little risk in haveing to endure an L. In the big scheme of things Minne is to Texas/USC as Rutgers or UVA is to PSU. A good “big conference” opponent but little risk of a “tough” game. Thank goodness we have Bama for two years (though could be two L’s).
Minni is to Texas
as Minni is to us. Well i guess they’re not in the same conference but close enough
