All my trash talk
is good natured at it’s core. The Caps are a hell of a team and I’ve always liked watching the Pens face them in the playoffs. Ovechkin is a bit of a dick, but he’s a gamer.
In comparison, I really do hate the Flyers to my core and don’t respect a single one of them or their fans. I’d hate Eagles fans if I didn’t pity them quite so much.

Was just riding the bike past the verizon center
On my way home from a non-hockey event. I wasn’t able to find out the score and I didn’t feel like stopping, I seriously couldn’t tell if they won or lost. Maybe I’ve been part of manic fan bases too long or something, but it was a little disturbing seeing how level-headed everyone was.

I really don’t mean to pile on, and calling DC a bandwagon sports town is like calling the Nationals shitty at baseball, but it was just so funny to see everyone in their #8 jerseys laughing and getting drunk at the Green Turtle.
To be clear, though: there are legitimate DC sports fans in DC. I’ve even met a couple of them.

Great Thread
I just got back from watching Game 7 down at Mellon Arena. what a fantastic time. nothing like watching the game with 3,000 of your friends on a giant screen w/ a horrible sound system. one guy and i were talking that there were more ppl watching the hockey game on the lawn there there were at the Pirates game tonight. probably true. best part was after the Caps scored their second goal, the crowd started booing but it was the most half hearted boo ever.
it was amazing!!!!
but i was kinda disappointed in this game. i was expecting a tough game. had even been prepared for OT. this just seemed sort of…flat. fun for me of course. but just sort of sad…
oh well…

i just moved back to pittsburgh. couldn’t take living in OH anymore. but would you believe they have me sitting next to the one buckeye fan in this building!!! 2000 employees and i find the buckeye!!! LOL
i consider philly part of jersey therefore it has no bearing on PA sports LOL
