Maybe CFB really is all about the Benjamins?
Take a look at this article found on Rivals / Yahoo! Sports. Apparently Delaware State is willing to forfeit one of it's conference games this year to go to Ann Arbor (is a whore) and play Michigan instead. From the article:
Delaware State, a I-AA program, is forfeiting a conference game to North Carolina A&T because Delaware State wants to play Michigan instead. And by "wants," I mean they have the opportunity to cash in for a bodybag appearance in Ann Arbor in mid-October. All anyone's saying is the two MEAC schools "could not agree" on a date to reschedule the game, and now NCA&T is 1-0. In May.
What say you, gents? Is a big payday worth it if you're being paid to fall down in front of a powerhouse team? (Or in front of Michigan?)
Can Delaware State pull an Appalachian State and upset the less-than-stellar Wolverines? Let's hope so. Go HORNETS!
Also, GO BACON.

That would be sweet as hell
Especially because we could watch the chaos swell in Ann Arbor over Rodriguez
The Civil War would be spectacular
I wonder how many would still cling to “He doesn’t have the players yet!”
DO YOU HAVE ANY PRIDE, DANNY?

This is the strangest thing that has happened all offseason.
I mean I’m sure there are beat reporters everywhere who have already blown this out of proportion, but think about how sad this whole thing is?
From what I can gather, though, a lot of it revolves around DS really needing the money, so everyone else kind of has them by the balls. I don’t think this is a “we want a shot” thing, it’s a “we want the half mil” thing, which is too bad.
Probably a larger story
Dealing with the financial struggles that a lot of HBCUs are encountering right now. It was bad before the economy tanked, I can only imagine it’s desperate now in places like Delaware State.
So we should be that much closer to our 2-1 with Pitt then right?
We are not normal. We are legends.

Hard to be mad at DSU
I think the entire budget for their football team is about $4,000, so they really can use the money.
I also hope they beat UM!

I'm not sure who I am more ashamed of
DSU, or Michigan.
I mean yes, DSU is forfeiting a conference game in order to take the paycheck, but couldn’t Michigan find an opponent that doesn’t have to make quite a sacrafice?

Maybe UM dipped their toe
in the swingers pool looking for a short term hookup and DSU came calling.
“Hey baby, what can I get for $500k. BTW I’m only available October 17, 2009. Who wants to show Ann Arbor a good time? Oh, hello Delaware State, Its so hot that you’re dumping your current date me me. Yes, you’ll do nicely. Since NCA&T won’t be doing anything that weekend, why don’t you bring them along. That would be hot.”
One man doing the work of 100's for the good of 1000's
You're right
NC A&T and Delaware State could put together an “all star” team and still be lunch meat for a poor Michigan team. Maybe they could borrow UD’s helmets while their at it and confuse the hell out of everybody.
