OSU leads Big Ten in recruit violations
Ohio State leads the Big Ten in recruiting violations. Coincidently, they also bring in the best recruiting classes. So, yeah.

What's that?
I couldn’t hear you over the sound of Terrelle Pryor sobbing on the sidelines.

If you aren't cheating.....
you aren’t trying hard enough
How could Nixon know so little about Watergate and so much about football ?
Wow
In all seriousness, that was a terribly written article. It took until the very end to tell us what level the violations were (talk about burying the lead), and really did not explain anything. I learned nothing from that article other than OSU bends the rules a litte and has done nothing major.

Recruiting violations? You mean my ’Vette out there?

“I don’t view it as a bad thing. If we suddenly had zero violations, I would have to ask myself what the coaches were hiding,” said Doug Archie, OSU’s associate athletics director for compliance and camps.
I just love that…it’s not a bad thing…LOL
however that was a horrible article.
OSU committed 26 total violations for the 2007-08 year. Twenty-one of them were level I, 11 were level II and two were either Big Ten or violations of OSU’s policies.
Gotta love the math in that paragraph.

Well
These are just recruiting violations. Everyone knows tOSU players don’t get paid until they sign on the dotted line.

Color me surprised, too.
I wonder how they do it? Do they just violate equally across state lines, or do they just assume that every recruit they want in Ohio is going to them and just pool their violations in places where there’s competition like Texas and Pennsylvania?
Difference being
any violations with respect to Clarett or Pryor (or Troy Smith) were booster violations. I think what the article is referring to are technical violations committed by members of their athletic department. Which is why the story is boring, yes, they self report a lot of “violations”, which are probably better characterized as mistakes, but they are relatively minor and cause no real problems.
Ohio State has a huge athoetic department, this story is really just a crappy article written by a journalsm student on a deadline.

Don't forget A.J. Hawk
Who had $5000 cash stolen from his dorm room. Wonder where he got that. I know when I was a college kid I never had $5000 cash stuffed under my pillow.

I’m incredulous! These falsified accusations against the instutution of higher learning known as Ohio State are livacious, salacious, scandalous, and meritless! (somebody in the background whispers that OSU admitted to these violations) Well, the glove still didn’t fit! I rest my case your honor.

Creepy!
My Facebook profile thumbnail pic appeared in the ad below this story on the main page:

yeah, mine did that too, and it creeped me out
I also love those “IQ” scores the post, especially when you refresh sometimes, and it is the same “friend” but with a different IQ score.
I also laughed at this one I saw that was something like, “average score of the Yankees = 117” and the next ad down, “average score of Yankee fans = 92”
I was on a Red Sox blog, and I wondered if they were taking pot shots at Yankee fans, or if it was just a random number generated
