PSU Players
Hey guys...I realize this is a long and tedious off season and we are trudging through it any way we can...so I was look at the bills blog Buffalo Rumblings (as I am a Bills fan) and apparently our boy Maybin has been tearing it up in pre-season workouts...I couldn't be happier for him and I hope he makes the starting line up...
It got me wondering how is the rest of this draft class panning out...and not just the draftees how about the "walk on's"...I know that Sargeant is also a Bill but not much has been mentioned about him (though I have great expectations for him)...but what is going on with the other guys Norwood, Butler, DWill, Evans...ect
WE ARE...

They love Butler in Seattle.
I’ve read multiple articles about how much they like him.

Ah NFL fans: where some guy thinks he knows how good a player will be based on how he looks
Let’s see the kid play in real games and show he’s worth the 11th overall pick first. Picking a fight with a backup lineman in practice doesn’t change my views on him.
He’s still a young and inexperienced one year wonder that comes out of college looking more like James Hardy than Bruce Smith.
Maybin is tall and lanky….Hardy is tall and lanky….Maybin LOOKS like a wide receiver, he’s tall and thin…I’m questioning his weight. You’re looking WAYYY to much into what I’m saying man.
Everytime I look at an NFL site I’m astounded by how trite and close-minded their fans are. Follow the logic if you can:
Maybin, based on this expert’s opinion, is tall and lanky
Some receivers are tall and lanky
Maybin looks more like a receiver than a DE, therefore he will not be a good DE
AIR TIGHT!!!

Fun Fact
Maybin does not look like a WR. That comment makes no sense to me.

It's all about painting with a broad brush for NFL fans
You have to look like your position. What’s a good WR look like? I don’t know, but these guys apparently do. Wes Welker doesn’t look like a good WR but he is. I wonder how many of these NFL guys went on and on about how Welker is a shrimp and therefore can never be a good receiver, HE DOESN’T LOOK LIKE HE’S SUPPOSED TO BUT HE CAN PLAY GOOD, THAT MAKE HEAD HURT.
Same thing with Sproles, Hines Ward, etc etc. And despite the long list of guys playing great despite their measureables, every year we have tirades about how you have to look like your position to be successful. Steeler fans went on about AQ being too small. Detriot fans went on about DWill not having video game numbers in college.
Well guess who drafts like these NFL fans think: Oakland. Oakland drafts just like you would for fantasy football, all measurables, all numbers, and no real insight. Guess who drafts the opposite of how these NFL fans think: New England. They drafted Tom Brady, they traded for Wes Welker.
For the record I hate the Patriots and I especially, really hate Tom Brady.

wrong
he looks exactly like a WR (one that looks more like a DE, and therefore can’t be a good WR) ;-)

It really drives me nuts. Maybe Bills fans are closet Syracuse fans bitter at the fact that Penn State won the war and became the national power in the Northeast?

I just think NFL fans are fundamentally different from NCAA fans.
