1995 PSU @ NU Replay
Anybody else watching this? How did PSU lose this game (or at all this season?)
Some thoughts
- 3 longtime NFL starters on the offensive line (Rivera, Hartings, Johnson)
- Milne and Whitman were much shiftier runners than I remember - could even be considered fast - or is this just related to my first thought?
- This game reminded me of why people disliked Wally. My recollection was that he was an above average QB. Maybe he was just off this day - I haven't seen any of his other starts lately - but how did they not get the ball downfield more with Scott + Engram.
- Man, I still hate Chris Eberle
- Being a Bears fan, it's hard to look back on Enis in a positive light, but from what I can tell his inability to play was what deflated the team
- Does anyone else recall why this team wasn't better? Lots of talent. It seems that NU has the edge in leadership with Fitzgerald & Autry, and I seem to recall thinking that PSU was devoid of leadership.

Penn State spent
the majority of 1995-1999 being considerably less than the sum of it’s parts. In 20/20 heindsight it’s easy to see how ripe for a fall we were. We were the perfect example of a fat and complacent program, relying on being bigger, stronger and faster that our opponents, and getting beat, often soundly, when we weren’t.
When I saw that Northwestern game listed as a “Greatest Game” I almost wanted to rewatch it, I didn’t remember it being that close. My recolection of that game is watchig it in a dorm at Mt. Alto campus saying, “Damn, we’re getting our asses handed to us by Northwestern!”, and just being stupid pissed because I felt entitled to win the game. Strange days.

Mt. Alto Campus
Used to have cool bonfire parties. I only partied there a few times, but had fun when I did.
Hey, this game is fun too and you can make it fun. --j. odrick
But I’m biased towards tailgating, as you may imagine. -ts
