Collins gets to wear black cleats for AFL throwback day in the NFL. Apparently he regularly wears black cleats in practice. Awesome.

3 in the regular season?

WTF? I thought there was one game a year you could wear an alternate jersey. Is there something different this year?

It’s something with the old AFL Franchises. Maybe it’s some kind of anniversary.

I can't think of anything special

the three big years for the AFL that I can think of are 1960 (creation), 1967 (first Super Bowl), and 1970 (official merger).

So unless they are emphasizing 2009/2010 then they’d have the 50 year anniversiary of the AFL, and 40 year anniversary of the AFC, but that seems ridiculous as only one of their games (and none of the “throwback ones”) occurs in 2010, unless they make the playoffs, and would seem better suited for next season.

Anyone else have any ideas?
