State College High's Basketball Team Just Got Better

According to the CDT, Penn State basketball verbal commit Taran Buie will be transferring to State College High School for his senior year.
Buie, who is a half-brother of Nittany Lion star Talor Battle, orally committed to play at Penn State in April.
Buie did not return several calls from the CDT on Tuesday night. His mother, Denise Murphy, told the Times Union that she and Taran are moving to State College, "where he will attend high school next year."
"I’ve heard the same thing," State College coach Drew Frank said Tuesday night. "I heard that the mom actually put a down payment on a property here in State College."
So all of you current students can go get an early look at our prized recruit this fall. We expect a full scouting report.

Does anyone know?
Is it illegal for Buie to start working out with the team this summer? I’m sure he can’t show up for official practice during the season, but what if he just happened to show up while they were playing pickup games in the gym? This would be a huge advantage for him as an incoming freshman to show up on the first day already knowing the system. Of course, I’m sure Talor is already coaching him up on that too.

He can play pick up with whoever is on campus from the team, but the coaching staff can’t be present. It’d have to be in an open gym situation, like at the IM building, instead of private games played at the BJC that aren’t open to the public.

I will be going to games
I will be going to State High games from now on…I went there, but now I’ve got a great reason to go back.
