"With the great quarterbacking of Michael Robinson, Anthony Morelli and now Clark, the team has been trying to spread it out, and they have succeeded. That spread has largely opened up running lanes."

Was anyone else
disappointed with #9? I’ve been keeping some track of the other teams, and I know I haven’t seen tOSU up there yet. I hope I wasn’t being overly optimistic when I saw the ranking and said “Biiiiiiitch pleeeeeeease”
I'm fine with it
Mainly because I really don’t care about preseason BS.

Agreed
But I was hoping that ESPN would come out of nowhere and TOTALLY REDEEM itself by putting us ahead of tOSU. Herbstreit must be organizing the rankings.
I honestly don't want to be any higher
In fact, I’d actually be more comfortable if we were in the teens. I think we’ll be pretty good this year, but I want tOSU higher for when they come and get their taste of what it’s like to be “too country”. Let them get their egos up so we can make Pryor sob like a little girl (no offense to the girls) again when they fall.

non taken. I want him curled in the fetal position in the South End Zone, with derision raining down from the student section
"If you let the men in you've got to let the women in. I don't want a bunch of women walking around in my locker room when guys take showers". Joe Paterno
lol, I can just picture it now
and one of his O-linemen comes over to help him up, he throws a hissy fit, and just runs out of the stadium

I wasn't disappointed at all.
I honestly have no idea how good we’ll be this Fall. I’m pretty sure that with the returning talent we have that we’ll be respectable, but given the number of holes we have to fill, I’m not ready to drink the Kool Aid. At this stage, I feel it’s better to be ranked lower than higher. Also, preseason rankings tend to be bullshit.
What I don’t get is how tOSU is ranked in the top tier of programs (and ahead of us) given that they have exactly the same problems that we have (replacing a lot of important starters) and weren’t as good as us last year.
All your base are belong to JoePa.
yeah, we discussed this a week or so ago
http://www.blackshoediaries.com/2009/6/11/905272/why-does-ohio-state-get-a-pass
the only reason seems to be that they’re Ohio State (just like USC is USC, etc), and always have good recruiting classes, and have been in National Championship hunts on pretty much a yearly basis for the past decade, while Penn State had 4 bad years for the first half of this decade, and even though it seems the ship has righted the past 4 years, we still haven’t earned back the “trust” of the media yet (not that they ever really gave PSU respect).
