Wasn’t this the game where Robinson asked, “What kind of a football team do you guys want to be?” before the 4th and 15?

MRob is sick nasty.

Watching the spring game there was a similar scramble by Newsome that reminded me of MRob, and this game reminded me of why I thought that.

I was thinking the same thing (though both wearing 12 helps too!)

KNew did it a few times where he ran right to escape Crawford, exactly like that Robinson evasion, and then picked up awesome yardage. Even the speed both of them showed was really similar. Although, I’d probably run like the wind if I saw Crawford barreling down on me, except I’d run out of gas and be slaughtered.

That 4th & 15 is Just Silly

It’s an accurate embodiment of this sport coming down to a single play.

And I had forgotten what a jailbreak Mrob had to endure on the touchdown.

Much fun! Thanks for memory lane…

O HAI

Would someone be nice enough to save this to a hard drive, lest it gets taken down?

Of course

The problem with this clip is the narrator. Yuck.

Could Pam Ward sound any more bored

Honestly this is awful, I’ve never had problem with Pam Ward but I had not heard this clip as I was at the game. You’d think this was the first quarter and they were trying to score before they had to switch sides.

She’s terrible. I mean, like the worst announcer on TV.

If you mixed all the worst traits of current football announcers, you would get Pam Ward. Lithium-induced lack-of-enthusiasm of Joe Buck, the complete inability to keep track of what down it is like Thom Brennaman, and the mind-numbingly awkward banter of Tony Kornheiser (no link necessary).

Their crowd sounded much louder on TV than they did in person

considering they only had their 20k capacity stadium about half full (and most of them were PSUers).

Also, thanks for stealing our lion growl, and then using it as we snap the ball (~1:20). Stay classy, Northwestern.

yeah we do

but i agree, that i don’t think it was used as often. Perhaps that’s because we’ve grown used to it so we don’t even pay attention to it.

The bottom line was confusing me

Until I realized it was an ESPN Classic broadcast.

Thanks you thank you thank you

No one outside of the fanbase really understands it, but this was one of my favorite PSU moments ever.

I was really drunk

At Rhino Bar in DC during this drive. But I do remember the DWill TD.

This drive was brilliant, but the drive against Michigan was even better. Fucking piss poor kickoff coverage, 2 extra seconds, and wide open Mario Manningham and it would be legen wait for it dary.
