"Real" questions don't count

I want to see some “Cornley smash” questions.

DO YOU HAVE ANY PRIDE, DANNY?

by ReadingRambler on Jun 8, 2009 1:19 PM EDT up reply actions

So far my name has been:

Mike H (The Grotto, TX)
Stephen Obeng-Agyapong (Bronx, NY)
G. Zug (State College)

I’m sure one of those will get on.

Ed DeChellis: (3:14 PM ET ) Expect the same uptempo offense. Maybe even more with the balance at the guard positoin that we will have. We hope to press more than we have. I think we’ll be a deeper, balanced team, especially in the back court.

And two more points.

Zug (Grotto) : Do you prefer the “White Out” or the “Code Blue.” How big of a differnce has Guido D’elia made for the game day atmosphere?

Ed DeChellis: (3:19 PM ET ) The ‘’White Out’’ because it’s a better atmosphere on TV. It shows up extremely well on national TV. It can be a very intimidating presence.

-5 points for not knowing that Nittany Nation wears white for every game, and that Guido does not have anything to do with the basketball atmosphere.

I was just trying to get Zug's name on there.

I figured if i starting using quotes, they would put it on…

+200 for getting Grotto and Zug on the same question.

Hey

I don’t think you’re allowed to make up your own BSD fun-bucks allocation for your own questions getting answered. This is directly equivalent to counterfeiting real money, so the BSD FBI is now on it’s way to lay down the law.

Why am I assuming that the BSD FBI is just RUTS with a baseball bat?

Penn Staters belong at Penn State. The problem with a lot of kids is they just don’t know they are Penn Staters yet. -jesse. @ BSD

+3 for Zug, Grotto & SOA

-2 for excessive self-flagellation.

Still, a net +1, so good onya mate.

When I say to a kid, ‘Hey, get ready to get knocked on your rear end,’ I also tell him, ‘Learn. Learn why you got knocked on your rear end. --jvp

+1 Daryll Clark fist pump to you, sir

DO YOU HAVE ANY PRIDE, DANNY?

BSD fun-bucks

I’m imagining a bill with Zug, Joe, DC-17 fistpump, CORNLEY SMASH or SOA on the front (for different denominations), and Zug’s head instead of the all-seeing eye on top of the pyramid. And there’s got to be a “In Grottos, we trust” on there somewhere.

True, but troubling, quote
Our 09-10 schedule is just about complete. We’re looking to secure one more contract. We feel good about our schedule. We looked at he RPI of the teams that we are playing and hopefully have made good decisions about our non-conference schedule. Keep in mind, it is very difficult to anticipate how teams on your non conference schedule will play in the upcoming season. That ended up being a huge problem for us this year in not getting into the NCAA Tournament.

Dunno. Maybe it’s the way I’m reading it, but it seems like he’s setting us up for lameness.

Note the lack of announcements of non-conference games

On the official PSU newspage, the only mention of OOC games is the Big Ten/ACC Challenge and tournament opponents.

On the other hand, an optimist could say that they are aware of the problem and tried to take some steps to improve it:

Hopefully they’ll release the schedule soon. I’m guessing two good opponents, assuming we play Temple again this year.

They wait until after Big Ten conference schedule is announced by league office

Full schedule will be released immediately after the press release is sent from Chicago… Usually around mid/late July…

I hope so

It would be extremely frustrating to see them do nothing about a problem that led to such disappointment last season (not to discredit the NIT win or anything).
