Four Dislocated Toes?
Whoa, I certainly knew they knocked both Royster & Green out, but I didn't realize we took out McKnight:

I haven’t seen it mentioned around here, but bowl games are trouble for our RB’s. We lost Hunt in 2005, we lost Kinlaw in 2007, and we lost Royster AND Green in 2008.
I don’t know if the long layoff results in RB’s getting a little sloppy and injury prone or if it’s just a coincidence, but it sucks bad. I still hold that if Royster stayed healthy it would have been a totally different game.

The worst was 1987
Blair Thomas blew his ACL in practice, he missed all of 1988.

But other than 2008
The backups picked up the slack fairly well.

if not for Green’s heart-breaking fumble and later his injury I think his performance would have been regarded warmly.

yep
unfortunately he had that fumble, and Royster likely wouldn’t (though if we were running that play it was gonna go to Green anyway)
